Trauma Grieving

529 Words
The darkness of the past loomed over Vee, casting a shadow on her present. Her eyes, once bright and full of life, had dimmed with the weight of her experiences. As a mother of three, she struggled to connect with her children, her touch often too harsh, her words too cutting. ................. ......... ............ It's been two weeks since the incident. Vee had escaped the worst, but it wasn't an easy one. She knew therapy was the next step, and she was scheduled to meet with Mr. Gabriel soon. This is the story: Johnson's Pov: It was 11:00 pm, December 28th. I remembered turning to my right, expecting to see Vee lying beside me, but she was nowhere to be found. I jumped out of bed, confusion etched on his face. "Where could she be?" I muttered to myself. I opened the bedroom door and stepped into the hallway, calling out softly, "Vee?" The house was quiet, except for the faint hum of the heater. I made my way to the parlor and found Vee sitting in a chair, her eyes fixed on some distant point. She seemed lost in thought. "Vee, why aren't you in bed?" I asked, trying to keep my tone gentle. Vee's gaze slowly shifted to him. "Jack...where is Jack?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. My heart skipped a beat. "What do you mean? Did you punish him?" Vee's expression turned blank. "I told him to stay outside. He needs to learn discipline." My anxiety spiked. "Outside? In this cold? Jack's only seven years old!" I rushed outside, calling out for Jack, but there was no response. The snow-covered yard was empty, and Jack was nowhere to be found. My fear turned to panic.
