Nikolai was shocked to his wits with what he had just discovered. How can that be? How in the world did all seven of them become like that? He asked himself, and then he stood up and started pacing back and forth.
The real reason she didn’t want anyone seeing her and knowing that she is the consigliere is not just because of anonymity but because people will talk about her being able to grow old. Nikolai thought of that reason and it all just makes sense.
He remembered her talking about everything as if she knew and experienced them first hand; it’s because she did. And the reason she has been telling him to read the journal is that the answers he sought were indeed written in the journal.
