“Avalon, what are you doing awake?” Merrick asked. The tone of his voice was obvious that he was hiding something alongside his brother. And I wanted to know what it was.
I remained rooted to my spot, my fingers still wrapped tightly against the door’s knob. My heart picked up a pace I had learned to be familiar with.
