The Dream Begins

248 Words
The Dream Begins The smell of garlic, onions, and freshly cooked rice filled the small kitchen. Liam Santos stood beside the old wooden table, carefully watching his mother prepare dinner. The kitchen was simple. The walls were faded, some of the cooking utensils were already worn out, and the small stove sometimes struggled to produce enough heat. But to Liam, it was the most beautiful place in the world. “Mom,” Liam said while helping her arrange the plates, “do you think I can become a chef someday?” His mother, Maria, smiled and looked at him. “Of course you can,” she replied. “But remember, becoming a great chef is not only about cooking good food. It is about putting your heart into everything you make.” Liam looked around the kitchen. “One day,” he said with determination, “I will have my own kitchen. A big one. I will cook for many people, and I will call it My Dream Kitchen.” His mother laughed softly. “That is a beautiful dream, Liam. Just promise me that you will never give up on it.” “I promise.” At that moment, Liam did not know how difficult the road ahead would be. He did not know about the failures, sacrifices, competition, and disappointments that would test him. But he knew one thing. His dream had already begun. And it had begun in the smallest kitchen he had ever known.
