Battle Of The Mind

I sat across from her at the dinner table. Studying her, the smell of roasted meat filled the air around us. She was clearly starving, tearing into the bread on her plate and moaning while she took a bite, it made me smile. I wasn't exactly thrilled at finding my mate but couldn't help the small smile that found it's way to my lips as I watched her enjoying her food. The beast inside me growled in approval at seeing how our mate was being fed. She wasn't meant to see it but she did and smiled back which made me want to kiss her, I shooked my head and stood up to leave. My food left untouched as I exited the dining room, the dark oak doors slammed shut behind me. I will most certainly not be falling for this evil women that made me weak in less than 24 hours. I desperately needed to shift. Just to let the edge off. My shirt tore as my beast emerged, fur spreading and bones cracking. Muscles growing larger with blood red eyes. A roar filled the forest that made the trees shake. I breathed in deeply, practically tasting the forest. This is freedom, being able to turn and run through the woods without having to worry about court duties, wars and a mate that I never wished to find. 'Mate,' my beast whispered to me. Unhappy that we left her alone at the castle. I roared I frustration. Why? Why did I have to find her, Alexia. Her name sounded so sweet in my mind it practically rolled of a person's tongue when saying it. I didn't like the feelings she gave me, I wanted to protect her, hold her in my arms while her scent filled my nostrils. She smelled so sweet like honey and lavander. This is why my father was weak, he allowed a women to cloud his judgment which made him an unworthy ruler. Eventually I found a stream, the water flowed softly over the river pebbles a few salmon drifted around, it was almost spawning season for them which meant that soon there would be a ton of them. My stomach growled in hunger, eating in this form wasn't hard when you went hunting in the woods. For some it was unpleasant but for Lycans it was nature. I ate nine before I was satisfied but I couldn't help the evil though creeping into my mind while eating, 'Would Alexia enjoy this? Running through the woods with and hunting small animals?' I quickly discarded that though. She couldn't even shift how would she like eating raw fish? 'We should probably go back, get some rest,' I thought to myself. My beast agreed humming in approval, but only because the idea of going back meant that we would be with our mate. It took me less than fifteen minutes before I reached the castle, my guards bowed low in respect. When I reached out I stopped dead, my heart was pounding in my chest, I could hear her heartbeat slowly, she was probably already asleep. The door handle felt cold as I crept in the room, I didn't want to wake her. Her still form could be seen under the covers, the moonlight falling on her face enhancing her beauty. No, I had to stop admiring her. Quickly I went to the bathroom for a shower, her scent filled the room which made my beast growl. Wanting to hold her, scent her. I was starting to get irritated the pull towards her is annoying. I crept into the bed trying to put space between us but my beast wouldn't allow it. I will only allow this bit of control. Slowly my arm wrapped around her waist, pulling her closer to me. This felt amazing her body fitted mine precisely, sparks filled me as her hand curled around my arm. Fuck, I will not be able to resist her for long. She's is already making me weak by just clutching my arm.
