1922 Diary 2nd September 1922 Dan O’Donovan was in the paper, and the outrageous speech he made at the Dunore inquest was quoted in full. To my knowledge, no English soldier was fired upon around here during the whole of the Anglo-Irish war and I do not think I am wrong in stating that the present occasion is the first on which a soldier was killed in Wexford since 1798.
