Mystery Mermaid Part One

The next few days involved intense basic training. Me and Dillon trained all day long everyday for at least a week before we could even pick a weapon. On the plus side I was faster than Dillon out swimming him everytime. I could almost swim as fast as Kierra but not yet everyone was surprised how quickly I was picking up swimming with my tail.

I picked out a short sword like the one Kierra had used. Kierra preferred a long two handed sword but would typically keep dual swords on her. She was teaching me to use the short sword and dual swords as a second. Saying you never know when your going to be attacked without your short sword.

Mitch actually made my sword for me it was beautiful the blade itself looked like it was made of obsidian. My dad apparently ran an obsidian trade. The handle hand been carved into a mermaid on either side. It was extremely sharp which I learned first hand. Thank goodness I could heal quickly. I hurt myself more than Kierra the first week of using the sword.

Dillon had picked out a trident. He had told me ever since he seen one he had wanted to use it. Me and him were now friends. It was a bumpy road of me needing to learn to forgive but I found I really liked Dillons company.

Char was in charge of training Dillon. Me and Dillon found ourselves watching Char and Kierra dual each other everyday multiple times a day. They had a love hate relationship. Mostly cause they were in love but both trying to deny it. It was fun to watch them go at each other though. Strangely enough you could see the love between them as they danced around each other with their long swords.

I had found the routine of waking up as a family eating breakfast as a family and going for a swim with Char, Kierra, and Dillon was good. Training for another hour before lunch then heading back out and training till dinner time. I was getting more muscles though I was still very lean taking after my mother.

Everyday Mitch my mom and my dad would have meetings all day long and for whatever reason today they decided we needed to be their. So the four of us made our way to a giant room filled to the brim with all kinds of merpeople. We sat near our parents with Dillon on my side as my guest and Char on Kierras side.

Our parents had decided after me and Dillon decided to train that Char and Dillon should be me and Kierras personal guards. Mostly because we were always together anyways. So we quickly became a comfortable just hanging out together. While everyone chatted I turned to Kierra.

"How often do they make you come to these meetings?" I asked her.

"At least once a month, they have to meet with people all the time and want me to learn the responsibilities and what not so I come to different meetings. This is a military meeting." she answered back.

I nodded, "I wonder what all they've found out so far."

Before Kierra could answer Mitch called the rooms attention with his loud booming voice. "Welcome everyone. As I'm sure you are aware my daughter Sierra has returned and with her we have been experiencing more and more attacks." he let the news sink in about the attacks. "Unfortunately it has come to our attention that the attacks are coming from with in our own town." With that people started to jump up yelling what do you mean asking if they were safe and what they should do.

"I have already added guards and I have assembled a team to hunt down the very active sea witch. I have great news to tell you we have located the evil sea witch." Mitch told the room the initially had grown quiet learning they were safe but at the news of the sea witch being found they were now excited.

"We are planning an attack on the evil sea witch and I will need everyone's help!" He boomed across the room. "The plans will be distributed today commanders I expect you all to get the information out and get everyone ready we attack in a week!" and with that everyone was dismissed.

The evil sea witch had actually been found. Mitch had a plan it was finally going to be all over I jumped hugging Kierra who was excited too. "Dad what's the plan for us?" Kierra asked.

"Well you guys are the bait. It's the best way to draw her out we found her hold up in cave in the mountains around the town. Close to where they had dragged you Sierra." my dad explained. "The plan is to hide the military to where she cant see them and have you guys train there. You've been training all over town and where ever you've trained we've sent military with you. It was done intentionally so that her spies won't suspect and flee."

The rest of the day was spent with us going over the details of the plan. In only a week we would be free of the evil sea witch I was so excited. That night though my dreams were awful. I dreamed of the day we'd attack everything was going good but then we were surrounded.

Eel and octopus mermen had surrounded the military and more were coming from the cave and from up high arrows were coming down. Some how the evil sea witch knew the plan and had ambushed us. I woke up sweating and Kierra grabbed me.

"What the heck was that?" she asked me.

"I, I don't know a bad dream I guess." I told her still not completely myself.

"That wasn't a dream sis I seen it to. It was to real. Have you had any other dreams like that?" She asked, and that when it hit me I had been having these dreams since before I came here.

I had dreamed about the day at the beach, and seeing the whole town, and even the attack before. These were visions of the future.

"We must have a snake as a commander" she said as if reading my face.

"What are we going to do?" I asked her.

"Well for one were telling dad about this." Kierra said shaking Mitch. Hmm came from dad so Kierra shook him harder accidentally waking everyone up.

Mom, Mitch, dad, Dillon, and Char all stared at us like we were crazy. I explained all the dreams though and they knew we were telling the truth mom started quietly sobbing. Mitch and dad looked defeated.

"Okay I can't go back to sleep now," Char said.

"Yeah let's get some breakfast and discuss the next steps," Mitch said knowing we were all up now.

In the dining room we decided to make a new plan but not tell the commanders yet. Not knowing who we could trust we decided to only trust ourselves. There was a traitor in our military and Mitch was determined to find out who. The next few days everyone acted like they were getting ready for the trip despite knowing the attack wasn't happening now.

Every night I would have more dreams for some reason I kept dreaming of another mermaid. She looked like us and was surrounded by ice. It wasn't until I noticed she could also control water that I knew she was like me and Kierra. So I linked everyone and told them the new plan.

I didn't know why we needed this other mermaid but I knew my dreams weren't something to play with. It was the day of the attack and our look alikes we're heading to the field. It had to look like we were going to be training. Mitch had to lead so mom and my dad were hunting for the traitor.

But me Kierra, Char, and Dillon couldn't worry about what they were doing we had our own mission now. Using a tunnel under the castle we snuck out while everyone was busy. We wouldn't know if the traitor was caught till we got back. It wasn't something that we could help though. We were off to get the only one who could help us.

With our to go nets and weapons we snuck off to make the long journey to the Arctic ocean. From the Bermuda Triangle where I had learned was where our castle was located to the Artic ocean where we were going was going to be over a two week trip so with haste we set off.

The tunnel under the castle was dark, dad had told us to be quiet till we exited the tunnel so out voices didn't echo back so me and Kierra opened a link with the boys. All holding hands me and Kierra used our echo location to see where we were going.

It felt like we had been going all day when we finally got to the end of the tunnel. We had to have been going for miles because it was dark out when we got out. Using my echo location I found a cave. Taking Dillon with me we went to check the cave out while Kierra hunted for something to light the cave up.

When we got to the cave I used my echolocation and felt something inside the cave it wasnt to big so I figured we could handle it. "There is something in there but I think we can take care of it."

"Okay," Dillon said taking his trident in front of him. I used my short sword and followed behind Dillon directing him to where it was. We got around whatever it was and moved torwards it from it's left and right. It bolted to the exit of the cave and when it got out we seen it was just a little octopus.

"Sorry little guy but we need this cave for the night," I said to it as it swam away.

It didn't take long before Kierra returned with another jelly fish. She also brought crabs back to eat. "I figured everyone was hungry since we skipped lunch," she said with a laugh.

"Yes please," Dillon said taking a big crab.

"So who do you think the girl from your visions is?" Char asked.

"She looks like us so I'm saying a cousin maybe?" Kierra said. I had the same thought.

"That's what I was thinking to," I said.

"Well how do you know we need her?" Char asked.

"I don't know we just feel it," I said.

"Well here is to hoping she nicer than you two brutes," Dillon said earning a whack from me. He was giggling and grabbing my wrist. "It was just a joke calm down." he said giggling at me.

"You already know how he feels about you do no point getting jealous," Kierra said ducking behind Char.

I accidentally hit Char with my empty crab shell and he yelled, "Hey leave me out if this I didn't do anything!"

I started laughing then apologized, "Sorry you know I wasn't trying to hit you."

"Well I'm just saying I'm staying out of your love life." Char said and I threw another crab shell at him.

"I don't have a love life!" I yelled.

"Okay, okay sorry..." Char said.

"Yeah can't you tell their both brooding over each other he already told her and she is fighting that she actually likes him," Kierra said.

"Well that's rich coming from you you're in love with Char and it's not that I'm fighting my emotions they are just very new I'm still exploring them you meany!" I yelled and then everyone was laughing.

I was exhausted from our journey and found myself falling asleep. Unable to keep my eyes open any longer I laid on Kierras lap. "Goodnight everyone" I said before passing out.
