Handle me??! Who the hell did they think they were talking about?
And then when he spoke, it sent chills down my spine.
“Let this one be.” He said.
And then they walked away. No one helped me.
And I hissed and bent down to pick my items on the floor back into my bag. I saw that my wolfsbane had poured and I was furious.
Wolfsbane was a plant that could prevent you from sniffing the most powerful Wolf and also hide you and make your own scent invincible.
I hissed irritated again.
And then I packed them inside my bag and zipped it up.
Then I walked up towards the building, and for some unknown reason everyone was turning to look at me.
I ignored them and walked to the receptionist desk.
“Uhmmm hi?” I said.
“Hello, welcome to Heaven Companies what can I do for you?” She asked me.
She was all smiles until she saw me.
I sniffed my clothes and wondered if I smelt so bad that everyone reacted oddly to me.
But I smelt okay.
I ignored her look and went back to the matter at hand.
“I’m looking for Alec Heaven.” I said.
She scoffed. “I beg your pardon?”
I looked at her. “ I said I am looking for Alec Heaven. I want to see him.”
“And what business would you have with him?” She asked as she eyed me up and down. I could hear the mockery in her voice.
“How is that any of your business or concern?” I asked her.
She gave me a dirty look and was taken aback.
Then she adjusted her posture. “Do you have any appointment with Mr Heaven?”
“No. I don’t.” I said.
“Then I’m sorry. No appointment, no seeing Mr Heaven.” She said.
I sighed and tried to maintain my posture and become relaxed. I closed my eyes and counted one to five.
Then I breathed in. “Okay I’m sorry. I think we started on the wrong foot. How do I book an appointment with Alec Heaven?”
She gave me a tight smile. “You’re going to have to fill a form stating your reasons for visiting Mr Heaven, you need to show proof of bank statements, past criminal records have a guarantor, official statements and yes wait in line along with everyone else.”
I blinked. Then I counted one to five reminding myself to be calm. After I had done that, I breathed in and out again and turned to her. “So if I get all this when do I get to see him.”
“There is a long list. And Mr Heaven is fully booked for the year.” She said with a nasty smile. “You’re going to have to see him next year.”
“This is March!” I wanted to explode.
Everyone turned to look at me, but I ignored it.
“I am aware.” She said. “And I assure you that Mr Heaven would have no interest in seeing someone like you. Especially with the way you are dressed like a common street rat.”
I had had it.
I started counting one to ten.
I closed my eyes and started counting.
“What are you doing?” I heard her say.
“I’m counting one to ten.” I said. “And if I don’t get calm by ten I am going to destroy this place.”
I reached ten and then when I opened my eyes the receptionist did look scared.
“Look Alec Heaven is my mate. And I need to see him right now.” I said.
She eyed me in disgust. “What gives you any idea that he can be a mate to someone like you. You must have gone mad and I’m calling security.”
“I’m not asking. I’m telling you that I am meeting Alec Heaven this very instant!” I said.
Then I stormed away from her desk and stood in the middle of the hall and sniffed.
Since the wolfsbane had been covered, I could now smell perfectly.
And my nose caught him. He was way up so I started marching towards the elevator.
“Where are you going to??” She screamed. “You can’t do that! Security!”
So I ran into the elevator and hurriedly tapped on the button going up and just as soon as they would have caught me the doors close shut.
There was no way in hell, that I was going to wait for a year before I saw Alec Heaven.
I knew that once he saw me and spoke to me, he would know I was his mate and we were meant to be together and there is no stopping that.
The moon has joined us together. I was his chosen one, he was mine and I knew that he was going to accept me as his when he smelt me.
I had not come All the way from Romania to New York City for nothing.
Once the elevators opened, I smelt his scent stronger and then I fled up following it. Not far from me, I heard men shouting as they raced after me.
I kept on following the scent running right through people.
“Hey!”
“Sorry.” I apologized.
Then I reached a glass door and pushed it and saw another lady seated at a desk.
“Who are you?” She asked me.
I ignored and rushed straight to the door where the scent was coming from.
“Where the hell are you going to?” I heard her heels along with the other marching boots running after me.
I bumped right into someone as I opened the door.
I saw a man with blonde hair. So handsome and mouthwatering I knew he was the one.
“Alec Heaven?” I asked.
He smiled at me, but before I could speak, I was grabbed by a hand and pulled away.
“I am so sorry, she ran in and i couldn’t stop her.” The woman said.
The security guards were standing there too, and so was the receptionist from the ground floor.
She looked furious.
“No don’t worry.” He said.
Then he looked at me.
“Who are you looking for?” He asked me.
“Alec Heaven.” I said. “You’re my mate.”
He looked at me for a while and said nothing for a while, then he opened the door well for me to come in .
“I’m not Alec Heaven.” He said. “My name is Dave. That’s Alec Heaven.”
He said pointing into the office and it dawned on me that the scent was not emitting from him, but from someone in the office.
To my horror and absolute shock.
It was the man from the entrance of the building.
The one who had run into me and had been so rude.
“You again?” He said with a hint of irritation.
“This is a joke.” I said praying it was.
Dave stepped into the office and walked up to the man who they said was Alec Heaven.
“Alec, she says you’re her mate.” Dave said.
And when Alec looked at me and our eyes locked I felt the surge of energy. I felt it like a powerful bolt so strong I almost fainted.
I had to stagger back a bit and I knew he felt it too.
This was a mistake. This couldn’t be my mate.
My mate was supposed to be someone like Dave. Someone my inner wolf perceived as kind and light hearted not someone like this man that emitted Danger and mystery around him.
He eyed me and I felt myself begin to shake.
He was without his suit jacket, so it was simply his white inner shirt and the button were undone.
“Weren’t you the little brat that was so careless and rude to me right in front of my building?” He asked me.
