Four

So I had always hoped that my mate was going to be like a dream to me. It had been how I had always imagined it, like Cinderella, and since I had a wicked step mother and step sister, I fit the whole story line.

But this man that “claimed” to be Alec Heaven looked nothing like my Alpha charming, in fact he looked nothing that suggested he came from heaven.

He was scary and rude, and I hated to admit it, he was intimidating.

“You hit me outside.” I countered to his claim that I was the rude brat he had met. Then I folded my arms and sized him up and down. “Besides, I am not a brat.”

“How did she get into this office again?” Alec asked the rest of the workers puzzled.

“Sir, she ran past me and the guards. I tried to explain to her that you were busy, but she wouldn’t listen to me!” The receptionist from downstairs said.

“That’s because you were rude to me!” I said. Then I turned to him. “And moreover your security system here is unsafe. If I wanted to kill you i would have. Easily.”

“No sane person would do what you did.” The receptionist snapped.

“Exactly why it would be easy for me to come right up and kill him.” I hissed.

The receptionist looked at me like I was crazy.

And she didn’t waste time to rush up front and grab my arm.

“You have been nothing but trouble, you’re getting out now.” She hissed at me.

I started to argue and then an “Enough.”

And we all turned, it was from Alec.

“It’s too late to act the hero Angela.” He said to the receptionist. “The brat is right. If something were to happen, it would have been your fault. You’re fired. Leave my office.”

Angela’s mouth dropped and I jerked my arm free.

“Sir!” Angela said. “It was an accident.”

“And I accept that.” Alec said. “But in my company, there are no places for second chances.”

He snapped his fingers and everyone was dismissed.

“Get out.” He said.

They all turned and left with his secretary and Angela weeping in the trail.

I turned to him.

“Wasn’t that too harsh?” I said. I didn’t like the lady, but firing her was a way too far punishment.

“My God! Who the hell do you think you are to question me!?” He snapped as he threw his glass cup at the glass and it started into pieces.

I jumped instantly and my heart started beating.

“I said get out. And when I said that, I meant everyone including you.” He snapped at me.

I looked at him in shock.

“I don’t like you.” I said point black. “But you’re my mate and I’m yours. I came all this way to find you.”

“You see that’s where you’re wrong.” He said. “I don’t have a mate. I can’t have a mate. I’m too heartless for that. Everyone knows that. And even if I were to even have one, you’re too stubborn and small of a brat to be mine.”

“Where do I go to from here?” I said swallowing. I wasn’t going to cry, I told myself. I wasn’t going to cry.

“Back from wherever you came from or back to who sent you.” He said indifferently.

“Alec I think you should listen to her.” His friend Dave who was still standing said to him.

“Don’t start.” Alec said to Dave. Then he turned to me. “Tell whoever paid you to come get me, that it didn’t work. If it was Trish, tell her it was a nice try but I’m done with her.”

I looked at him in rage. “NO ONE SENT ME!”

He walked to his desk and pressed a button and then he said to it. “Security, I have an intruder in my office, come and take her away.”

I looked at him. I had left everything, left my home, left my country, abandoned my father and everyone else, ran away, to find my mate only for him to reject me.

I had heard of alphas rejecting their mates, but I had never imagined that it would happen to me.

I felt humiliated, from the corner of my eye, I saw Dave give me a sympathetic look.

I felt the tears on their way out, but I wasn’t going to give this monster the pleasure of watching me cry.

I clenched my fist and then from nowhere, I felt arms grab me, it was the security he had just called.

“Don’t touch me!” I growled at them.

Then I straightened myself and looked him right in the eye.

“I can find mg way out.” I said.

I picked my bag and turned away from the office, with my head held up high, I left.
