Chapter 4

One afternoon, Caleb sat Julia down and revealed some news that took her by surprise. "Julia, I applied to a college in the city, and I got accepted. I'll be starting in the fall."

Julia's heart sank at the news. She knew that the city was a long way from their small town and that it would mean they would be separated for a long time. "What does that mean for us?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Caleb took her hand and looked into her eyes. "I know it's going to be tough, but we can make it work," he said. "We'll stay in touch and visit each other as much as we can."

Julia nodded, but she couldn't shake the feeling of doubt that lingered in her heart. She wondered if their relationship could survive the distance and the challenges that lay ahead. "I just don't know if we can do it," she said, her voice filled with sadness.

Caleb pulled her into his arms and held her tight. "I know it's scary, but I love you, Julia. And I know that we can make it work if we both want to."

Caleb pulled her into another tight embrace and kissed the top of her head. "I'm going to miss you too, Julia. But we'll make it work. I promise," he said.

As the train pulled away, Julia felt a sense of emptiness washing over her. She knew that the coming months were going to be a challenge, but she was determined to make it work with Caleb. She wiped away her tears and tried to focus on the future.

Julia sniffled and wiped away her tears. "I just don't know if I'm strong enough, Caleb. I love you so much, and it hurts not to be with you. What if we grow apart? What if we can't make it work?" she said, her voice trembling.

Caleb's heart sank at the thought of losing Julia. "I love you too, Julia. And I promise you, we'll make it work. We'll find a way to bridge the distance between us. We just have to be patient and trust in our love," he said, his voice filled with determination.

Julia took a deep breath and tried to calm herself down. She knew that Caleb was right. They had to be patient and trust in their love. "I'll try, Caleb. I'll try to be patient and trust in our love," she said.

Caleb smiled, feeling a sense of relief. "That's all I can ask for, Julia. Together, we'll overcome anything," he said.

As the weeks went by, Caleb became busier with his classes and hanging out with his new friends in the city. Julia noticed that they were talking less and less, and when they did talk, Caleb seemed distracted and distant.

One day, after a particularly short and awkward conversation, Julia couldn't take it anymore. "Caleb, what's going on? We hardly talk anymore, and when we do, you seem like you're not there," she said, her voice quivering with concern.

Caleb let out a sigh, "I'm sorry, Julia. I've just been so busy with school and trying to make new friends. I didn't mean to make you feel neglected."

"But I miss you, Caleb. I feel like we're drifting apart, and I don't want to lose you," Julia said, her voice full of sadness.

"I miss you too, Julia, and I don't want to lose you either. I promise I'll try to make more time for us," Caleb said, his voice filled with remorse.

"I don't want to be a burden to you, Caleb. You have so much going on, and I don't want to hold you back," Julia said, her voice heavy with doubt.

"You're not a burden, Julia. I love you, and you're always going to be important to me. We'll make it work," Caleb said, his voice filled with conviction.

Julia let out a small sigh of relief, feeling reassured by Caleb's words. "I love you too, Caleb. But I need you to show me that I'm still a priority in your life," she said, her voice firm.

Caleb nodded, "I understand, Julia. I'll do my best to make things right. I'll make more time for us, and we'll figure out a way to stay connected," he said, his voice filled with determination.

Julia smiled, feeling a renewed sense of hope. "Okay, Caleb. Let's work together to make this work. I believe in us," she said, her voice filled with optimism.

Caleb smiled back, feeling a sense of relief. "Me too, Julia. I believe in us," he said, his voice filled with confidence.
