Guilty or Not Guilty - Last Part.

Chapter 4 - Grace the Grace Time moves quietly, even inside prison walls. Days turn into weeks, weeks into months, and before anyone truly notices, years have passed. For Akin, the boy who once stood in court confused and afraid, life behind the iron gates slowly became his reality. Seven years went by. Seven long years of early whistles, hard work under the sun, quiet nights in a small cell, and constant prayers whispered to God when no one was watching. On the day Akin turned twenty-five, something unexpected happened. A new government had just been elected in the country. As part of their first national decision, they announced a large act of mercy: ten thousand prisoners would be released. The news spread through the prison like wildfire. Many prisoners waited with hope, while others did not dare believe it. But when the list of names was finally read, one name stood among them. Akin. Because of his good behavior, his calm nature, and the kindness he had shown to both inmates and officers over the years, he had been chosen among those to be released. The prison gate that once closed behind him now opened. When Akin returned to the ghetto where he had grown up, people rushed out of their homes. Old neighbors, childhood friends, and familiar faces gathered around him with joy and disbelief. Some hugged him. Some shouted his name. Others simply smiled, happy to see him free again. Later that evening, Akin walked alone. His feet carried him back to the narrow spot where everything had started years ago. There, lying quietly near the roadside, was the iron rod. He stood still, staring at it. Suddenly the memories rushed back, the thief, the struggle, the shouting, the moment that changed his life forever. Akin took a slow breath. Then he looked up at the sky. Some wounds never disappear. But sometimes… life gives a second chance.
