LENORA~~~~
Well, things didn't go as planned when Bellamy arrived.
He came in late in the night, smelling like sweat laced with a lingering scent of a feminine perfume. I pulled away from the window where I'd been sitting for hours and approached him.
“There's a rule about bringing girls into the dormitory,” I cooed, forcing my voice to sound deep and masculine. I took a masculine stance, legs at ease and hands across my breast, trying to appear threatening enough to make him coil. “What do you think would happen if I ratted you out?”
His hand gripped my neck instantly and slammed me against the wall. They pressed me in, taking my legs off the ground until I could feel myself floating. His eyes were red, a little teary and fierce.
“Maybe I didn't make myself clear. This is my room, and you will obey my rules. Do you understand?”
I choked, slapping his arms to regain my freedom. The more time I stayed choked up against the wall, the more I lost my ability to breath.
My lungs thinned, forcing air upwards just so I could stay alive. But his fingers tightened around my neck,
“Yes,” I rasped, voice hoarse but firm. I forced it out, even if the word barely carried.
His fingers lingered for a beat too long before loosening. My body dropped, knees buckling as I gasped in precious air. He didn’t spare me a second glance, just tore off his shirt, kicked his boots aside, and collapsed into bed like he owned the world and everyone in it.
“Sleep there,” he muttered, already tugging the blanket over his shoulders.
I sank to the floor, chest rising and falling in broken waves. My throat burned, but I swallowed hard, blinking away the sting behind my eyes. Boys didn’t cry. Strong boys endured.
Eventually, sleep pulled me under where the cold stone floor failed to.
When light crept into the room, I was yanked back to the present by something smacking against my face. A cloth. Bellamy stood over me, fully awake now, an arrogant smirk playing at his lips.
“Laundry. Go.”
I scrambled upright, clutching the fabric, and hurried out before his temper found another target. The hallway buzzed with life—students moving, talking, rushing about. It felt different, charged with excitement.
Clutching his clothes, I made my way to the laundry and back, the freshly pressed shirt folded neatly over my arms. But I didn’t know where Denzel’s room was, so I asked a boy leaning lazily against a pillar.
“What’s going on?” I asked, keeping my tone clipped, boyish.
He looked at me like I’d just fallen from the sky. “You new? Tonight’s date night. The Academy boys go to the town hall, mingle with the girls from Moonveil Academy. Happens once a month.”
Date night. My pulse stumbled. A gathering meant exposure.
I nodded quickly, muttered thanks, and returned to our dorm.
Bellamy stood naked, dragging a pair of briefs up his lean waist. My breath snagged, eyes capturing the perfect oval shape of his ass and his back. His body was built like steel—broad shoulders, lean muscles, the kind of strength you couldn’t fake.
He caught me staring.
“Well?” he asked, one brow arching as if daring me to look away. “You planning to stand there gawking, or are you going to hand me my shirt?”
I swallowed the lump in my throat, looked away and held the shirt out stiffly. My hands didn’t tremble—I wouldn’t let them.
He snatched it from me without a word, his eyes never leaving my face. For a moment, I thought he was looking straight through me, peeling back the skin and bone, seeing me for who I really was.
“Next time,” he said smoothly, tugging the shirt over his head, “don’t stare at me like that. People might get the wrong idea.”
Heat crawled up my neck, but I forced a scoff. “Relax. You’re not that interesting.”
He stopped dragging his trouser up his legs to look at me.
The corner of his mouth twitched, whether it was irritation or amusement, I couldn’t tell. He stepped closer, and I realized just how much taller he was. My body tensed instinctively, remembering his hand crushing my throat only hours ago.
Yet, I went on with another daring statement. “Even if I am into boys, you're too arrogant to be considered. I'll pass,”
“You’ll learn,” he murmured immediately, his voice low and certain, like a promise I didn’t want. “Everyone does.”
I didn’t answer. Couldn’t. My silence seemed to please him more than any comeback I might have given.
Bellamy turned away, gathering a few items from his desk and tucking them into his jacket pocket. He hung the laundered clothes in his wardrobe, looking so casual, so unaffected, while I stood there battling the wild rhythm of my heartbeat.
“Date night,” he said suddenly, glancing over his shoulder at me. “You’re going. Consider it…A welcome event. .”
My stomach dropped, but I kept my expression flat. “Why would I go on a date night?”
“Why wouldn't any guy? Unless you really are into boys,” he replied with a smirk, brushing past me on his way out. His shoulder knocked into mine, deliberate, a reminder of just how small I was compared to him.
The door clicked shut behind him, leaving me in the quiet dorm that smelled faintly of his cologne and freshly pressed clothes.
I sank onto the bed, clutching my throat without meaning to.
Of all rooms.. 307!
With this arrogant prick!
Bad, yes. But I'll choose it over being sold off by my uncle like a trade material.
The rattling of the door knob sent me out of Bellamy's bed. I thought he was the one, but Denzel walked into the room holding a black suit case. It felt relieving to finally see him after barely twenty four hours.
“Where's Bell?” He asked.
I shrugged, cleaning my face to make sure there was no drop of tear. “What's in there?”
“A cloth. I figured you'd need one for tonight,” he placed it on my bed. “You can join me when my driver comes instead of going with the bus,”
I looked through the case, got a glimpse of the green suit before zipping it up. “What time?”
“Seven. I'll be at the fountain waiting. Be early,” he tapped my shoulder like he was leaving me with a word of encouragement before leaving.
