“Sure, we have another half-hour before we open,” said Dr. Dallas. Gloria took Barton’s hand again. She ignored the shock and led him into the other room and started showing him around. Barton was impressed with how up-to-date the clinic was and admired how organized Dr. Dallas was. They heard voices out front and stopped the tour to check on them. They found Dr. Dallas talking to an elderly man in the front room. When they entered, the man was talking. “I’m sorry, Dr. Dallas, but my wife has to have the operation. I can’t let her go by herself.” “Of course you can’t, Hal. I understand. Your job will be waiting for you when you return. Go and take care of Ruth. I hope everything goes alright. Keep in touch, and I will see you when you get back,” said Dr. Dallas. “Thanks, Dr. Dallas,”
