Reminiscing over how they met and her motives for accepting the marriage contract, Ciara felt she has been wrong from the beginning —in every manner and everything. He used to be a pleasing guy —so, she thought of him. However, all of a sudden, he started changing his mindset towards her. At first, she did not examine much into his change of conduct but soon, she was compelled to get used to it. As the contract stated, it is a one-year lasting settlement and each party ought to preserve it. Aside from the penalty for breaching the contract, Ciara in no way liked going back on her words, she always keep on with it to the cease. Ciara's preliminary purpose from the start was to get a few clues from Ryan however in return, she ended up falling for him —she fell for the guy, who is nevertheless obsessed with his ex and barely treats her like she exists. She sighed heavily with just only one thought on her mind —sign the divorce papers earlier than he returns. Just as he has left it, the papers were nonetheless laying on the table. Neither of them has touched it nor moved it away from its initial position. Without bothering to examine or go through it, she only signed where vital and dropped the file where he had left it. ****** "But, Ryan..." "I'm sorry, woman..." He stated simply. "—but I might not tolerate it if you should call me again. I have a greater essential thing to deal with here in preference to being disturbed with unnecessary calls." With that, he hung the call up on her with an extended hiss and not bothering to await her response, it was apparent that he is not inquisitive about the call too. "Is she the one?" Anne questioned immediately after Ryan drop the call. "Oh, yeah," Ryan replied with a pissed-off sigh. "I do not know what she is calling me." "Haven't you given her the divorce papers yet?" Anne requested. "You should have given her a very long time earlier than now." Anne could not look forward to Ciara moving out of the house once they have divorced so she will be able to take over. She wants to be the superior and Ciara is the one hindering it. "I have but..." Ryan was pronouncing when Anne cut him off abruptly. "What's the 'but' I there, eh?" Anne asked hurriedly. "I did not count on any buts after you claimed to have given her the divorce papers. She should sign them and not anything more." Anne found herself getting impatient and possibly angry over what Ryan had just stated. What's taking time about signing papers? If Ryan' had given her the divorce papers simply as he declare to, then she see no cause why she ought to waste time signing them. She can't stand the fact seeing that Ciara is still in Ryan's heart even if she is aware that there's one thing lacking the both of them which is love. And what if they don't? That does not mean she should take a seat down quietly and watch. She has to act speedily in order not to lose this golden opportunity knocking at her door. She knows that delaying time will yield her nothing desirable at the cease of it. Even if they seem not to love themselves or maybe it was Ryan alone not loving Ciara. She cared little about their love thriller but she is certain about one thing. Ryan had never loved Ciara and he did not want him to, not even in her absence, and for her plan to yield well, she must act very fast about it. "I can't just watch her take over while I do nothing about it, that will be impossible," Anne mumbled to herself. "You did not even allow me to finish speaking before you cut me off," Ryan muttered as a substitute for blaming her. "That's so awful of you, you know?" "That is not supposed to be the answer to my question." Anne snapped, now no longer feeling remorse. Why should she anyways? "She is not going to sign them until the actual date she is supposed to," Ryan said in a very low tone but audible to Anne's hearing. "That's what she told me when I asked her to sign them." Has Ciara gone nuts? Why must she have to wait till the actual fixed date that the contract will breach, can't she just sign them and get the fuckin' out of Ryan's life? "Is she nuts or something?"Anne questioned. "She is waiting for the contract to breach before signing? If I may ask, how many years do you both sign?" "Just for a year and in less than four months, it will be over," Ryan replied. "Do you just hear what you just said?" Anne let loose a protracted hiss. "You still want to give her the very last four months when you are the man here." "What do you think I should have done then?" Ryan asked with a confused expression. "Should I ask her out?" "You should stop talking at this very moment," Anne quilped with her voice elevating gradually. "Must I educate you on everything?" Ryan frowns at her not knowing where exactly she is heading. "She will continue to be your legal spouse in as much as the paper leaves untouched can't you see," Anne reminded. "And what about me, eh? What would happen to me." Anne is somehow right and what she had just said and also, and she has a point there too. In as much as Ciara is still with him, he has not had much entitlement to Anne ad he did not like that. "I'll make amendments without delay when I got home," Ryan assured. "I'll make sure she sign them whether she wants to or not." "Now you're speaking my language..." ***** Ryan got home quite in advance than he had planned, he was surprised to see the house empty without a trace of Ciara in sight. At first, he had thought she went out to get a few things for herself or maybe decided to spend her day outside the house. She is not the type to stay outside that long but for her not to have returned, he is somehow worried. He searched for her all through the rooms but she was nowhere to be found. Ryan wonders what could have happened to her. "Why if she is in some kind of danger?" Ryan wondered even when he try hard not to think about it. Then she saw the letter on the table. What could be written inside a letter? This was his thought as he picked it up, unfolding it to read its content. His eyes sparkled with an unknown emotion as he scale his eyes through the content. ‘Don't bother to be on the lookout for me, I already signed the papers just as you pleased...'
