Chapter 2

Blair’s POV Niana rolled her eyes at me the moment I sat across from her next to Blake. She has dyed her hair ombre again, but this time it’s a bit different than the last time she did it. The top of her hair is still black, but the end  is pale blue. Sometimes it kinda looks greyish when the sunlight hits it. She naturally has pale skin, but she likes being tan. That’s why she spends most of her time at the rooftop of her house. “I called you 7 times, Blair.” She whines, “And, you didn’t answer any of it.” “I was doing homework, and I’m studying,” I said. She rolls her eyes again, “You’re always doing homework and studying. And, sometimes, you like to binge-watch those Korean Drama series that you’ve been obsessing about.” I giggled. Knowing that she really does take notes of my hobbit.  “It’s nice to know that you know me a lot more than I thought you did. But, really, I was reading Jenny Han’s book. It’s called ‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’. She’s Korean too.” She rolls her eyes again. “Guys, can you tell me, why am I friends with this loser?” she said to Tay and Blake. I burst out laughing. “Because you don’t have a choice?” I said in between laughs. “We’ve been friends for years, and you still dress as you did in middle school.” Niana remarks. Embarrassment filled me. I can feel my cheeks getting flushed as I playfully pat her on the shoulder, “I do not!” I protested. “You do,” Blake agreed. I can’t believe that he just basically agreed with Niana about me wearing lame clothes. “You should copy Tricia's outfit.” He added, taking a sip on his beer. She stared at him in disbelief. Tricia is the Queen B of our school, and when I mean Queen B, I meant Queen b***h. The mortal enemy of Niana in school, because she slept with Mark. Niana’s boyfriend. “Oh. The slut you f****d once, right?” It escaped from my mouth before I could stop it. All of them stared at me in surprise. Blake grinned at me, “You really hate her that much, uh?” He said, amused. “As far as I remember, the Blair I know is too kind that she doesn't know how to curse other people. No matter how worse they can be.” I rolled my eyes at him, “I just don’t understand why can’t you just date one decent girl. Why do you have to hook up with someone like that,” I said. I grabbed the milkshake he bought for me, taking a sip. Silently wishing that he should have bought me Hokkaido milk tea. He leans against the chair and looks at me with funny eyes, “Because, she’s really fun in bed and you’re being judgy and prude.” Niana made a disgusted sound and narrowed her eyes at Blake. “I’m your best friend, and yet you slept with that b***h. Knowing that she seduced Mark to spite me!” “Hey, Tricia’s not the only at fault here. It was also Mark’s fault. Because, if he truly loves you he wouldn’t cheat on you no matter how hot Tricia can be. Perhaps, you’re not warming his bed properly,” Blake said. I was surprised he would say something like this, considering that he has a notorious reputation in our school. But, when I think of it, he never really cheated in any relationship he had. Because he only had 1 relationship, and that was with Ysabelle. She was the only girl he ever loved and we all witnessed how crazy he went for her. Ysabelle Ford is 1 year senior to us. She was the smartest in her class, just like I do. But the only difference we have was that she’s pretty and ambitious. Everyone likes her. They have been together for 3 years but the moment she graduated from High school, she broke up with him. Saying that she couldn’t go to college and hang out with her college friends while having a junior high school boyfriend. That’s when everything changes for Blake. He became the first-class asshole because he couldn’t handle the pain of their break up. It’s been 2 years since they broke up, but the pain he feels for Ysabelle for leaving him is still fresh. He keeps saying that he's no fool, but every time she comes back to our Hometown he would immediately go nuts. And, I hate her for that. Because she knows the lengths Blake would do for her. Every time she wanted to fix their relationship, Blake just like a fool would accept her as if nothing happened. Like she didn't dump him like garbage. Their relationship would immediately meet its end as soon as her vacation is over. I've witnessed -- we all witnessed how she made a fool out him, everyone knows, he knows it. “Our graduation is fast approaching and I’m too busy to have a relationship when girls in our school freely give themselves to me without any label. Which I appreciate, because there’s no f*****g pressure,” said Blake, “What kind of twisted relationship is that?” said Tay. He still has a handful of burgers in his mouth. “It’s called charity, we help each other out without expecting anything in return.” said Blake with a grin. I shake my head in disbelief. I’m annoyed, because they just forced me to bring here just to talk about the girls he bedded. What a waste of time. I should be in bed right now as I read Jenny Han’s work, not listening to these bunch of morons. I pulled out my phone from my pocket and checked my ** account. There was a notification and when I checked it, I have a new follower. I check who it was and when I get on his profile. I gasped. It’s Harry Smith, the new transfer from Louisiana. He’s on the same basketball team with Blake. I have a couple of subjects with him, but he and I never exchange any conversation. I wonder what made him follow me, because I never really follow anyone on social media unless I know them personally. Niana cast a glance and grabbed my phone from me, I protested and tried to get it back. “Someone’s having fun,” She cooed. “I knew you have a crush on him since the first day of school,” “Who’s she talking about?” asked Blake, out of curiosity. The entrance door opened and Harry entered with his basketball teammates. His blonde hair was tousled and he was wearing a varsity jacket with a pair of faded jeans. He was holding his phone then he suddenly looked at our table and smiled at me, then gave me a nod as if he were greeting me. Then, he went the opposite way from our table and sat with his friends. “Oh my god!” Niana hushed, “Did he just smile and nod at you?” I looked down at my entangled sweaty hands. They were shaking a little bit. I really hate getting attention because it’s making me nervous. But, Harry gives me  a different effect though. “He’s obviously hitting on you, Blair!” “Be careful though, remember guys always want the same thing.” It was Blake who said that. Pulling a cigarette and lit it.
