II. Mate

I sigh in frustration.

I should've followed the scent of my mate. I should've seen my mate today. I should've known my mate today. I should've.. I should have..

What the hell?

**FLASHBACK**

'Mate! Mate! Mate!'

My wolf howled in tears of joy.

My excitement turned into frown.

Adrenaline rushed in my body when I'm thinking about my mate hurt from the attacking of rouges.

I'm starting to panic again.

'I need to see her!'

I was about to follow her scent when a large strong hands stopped me.

"Go! Go! Go! Where are you going!? Faster!" shout by our 3rd in Command using his authoritive tone.

"B-but—"

"ON THE TRUCK, NOW!" he shouted again.

I know he's now getting angry. His eyes switched into colors.

But— my mate! I just can't leave here without her!

I did not finish my complained when he push me harshly inside the truck.

I almost stumbled again. Good thing I was able to balance.

**END OF FLASHBACK**

I can feel my wolf mourned about what happen.

I didn't have the chance to see my mate today.

'Very unlucky'

I want my rage to control me over but I was able to control not to.

At least now I know my mate studying to the same school. To the same school where I also studied.

I pick up the stone and played it in my hands. I still remember her scent. It's very intoxicating. Her smell still lingers in my nose as if like teasing me. I watched the group of teenagers not far in front. Just like the others, they are helping the wounded members while I only sit here on the side, watching them. After all, I don't have any clue how to treat a wounded person. I'm suck of it. I'm just don't have the capability.

"Dude"

Carter approached me. I smiled at him as he sit beside of me.

"You okay?" he asked facing me.

I nod in response.

"I got to smell my mate today." I said in a couple of silence.

I heaved out a sigh, doleful.

Carter was shocked upon hearing what I said. I don't know what made him shocked like that.

"Wtf dude? Seriously? How come! Come on, spill the details! Where is she? No, who is she? You got to be telling me—" he rants as I stop him waving my hands in his face.

I chuckled.

"To answer all your questions, to be honest, I don't have any idea." I said.

He looked at me confuse.

"What?"

"I don't have idea."

"And what do you mean by that?"

I sighed. I look at him dulled.

"I don't have any idea who she is, where she is, and what she may look like. All I could remember is her smell. That's all."

Carter listened to me as I spill the details awhile ago. I let out my frustration as he listen. It's nice to think that there is one person who is willing to listen to all your problems, even if it is nonsense.

"Well, that's woeful." he commented.

I nod in agreement. "You can say like that."

I watched Carter sniffing the air. His eyes switch in to colors from blue to golden.

Shit!

I heard sound of gasp behind. I looked back and saw a girl wearing loose short and baggy faded shirt. Her blonde hair is in pony. Her freckles is visible in her eyes not shamelessly showing it. She looks timid and awkward—but cute. All about her is cute. Even her height. Her aura that screams inferior and her frame only tell that she belonged in the class Omega—the reason why she's quite familiar to me.

The way she looks Carter, I already know. She sure as hell Carter's mate.

I tap Carter's back unsoundly saying good luck. I'm glad that he already find her and he gain no sweat upon searching for her. He's lucky enough that he's mate found him.

I leave Carter with his mate. I can see they're having a staring contest, they couldn't let their eyes off each other. I don't want to interfere, not in my plan.  I leave them there for I have business to do too. I have to wander around in hope to find my mate if she's here. My wolf is in silent. I know he feel the same feeling I felt right now. I can say, it's bad.

Our pack have more or like 1, 056 members. The biggest number of pack members so far. That's the reason why we are the main target when it comes to attacking. It's also a vice versa. Alphas and other pack members from different places usually come here in searching of their mates.

The moment I smell my mate's scent, I was in the cloud nine. The roar of the truck is only I could hear for now. I'm watching the every passengers who were saved by the commotion a while ago, that includes me. I sigh in defeat knowing the fact that I only smelled her scent but I don't have the chance to see her.

The car stopped, sign that we're here in the pack. I quickly get out from the truck and run inside to my family.

"Mom! Cassidy, Cyra!", I shouted as I bolted on the door of our room.

And there I saw them, my two sisters cuddling in the corner.

"Brother!", they run and hug me tightly as they can.

I closed my eyes in relief. Atleast they're safe. "Where's mom?", I asked after a short moment.

"She's watching the pups. She'll come here after dinner.", Cassidy said in her small voice.

I kissed them both.

"I'll go downstairs. I have to get to Mom. Stay here you two, okay?"

My two fragile thing only nods.

My heart is in abnormal beating for I don't know the reason. I walk downstairs, in the kitchen, to see Mom. But then, the horn wailed so loud, sign that we have to gather in the field.

I made my way out in facepalm. I should have get some rest after this.

The pack gathers. Mostly the elders and at my age. The rough in the ground scratch as people walk in a messy manner. I stand in the passel of crowd, hiding myself, but can still see the view in front.

People bow as our Alpha Victorino appeared in the podium. He stand firm and he looked unhappy, like usual.

"Good evening," he greeted in a very deep voice that only him can do.

I looked around wondering where's Alpha Mia. And again, she's not here.

"You're all aware with the rouge's attack. This time, things has been settled and I can guarantee you a 96 percent safe for now. I hope you can now sigh in relief."

The people cheered with the good news.

"But now, the other reason why I gathered you here is, I will be out for an important matter first dawn tomorrow..", he adds.

People is in silent.

"That's why I will be pass the crown to my only daughter today. As in, today. This is very urgent, and my daughter already process the papers since it's only a matter of months where she will be turned eighteen. I know you all believe in her capacity and capability in dealing with Alpha matters, right?"

People are more delighted with a very good news. They cheered again, stating that they believe in her.

"Now let's start the honoring."

Honoring is a culture of the werewolves wherein passing of crown in a higher position is present. Mostly it is done by the Alphas and Betas and officers of the pack.

It was not then after a long moment when my nose quirked up and smelled something familiar.

"With the power vested upon me, I, Alpha Victorino Moon, hands over the position of Alpha in Silver West Pack to Mia Thria Moon. Thy behold the power in the hands of this person in a service of the people in Silver West Pack. Thou shall omit, thou shall neglect. All is power, safety for the pack's priority. I declared a honoring."

My heart beats fast. The intoxicating smell of vanilla filled in honey is all I could focus right now as I stared at Alpha Mia. I gasp in horror, not wanting to sink in that I'm staring at my mate. Nausea hits me and my head hurts, my heart is in chaos like it could explode any moment soon.

The crown is pass to Alpha Mia. She didn't smile but I can see delight in her eyes.

She squeezed the blood in her index finger in the golden bowl with intricate werewolves design in it. The blood dips and the golden bowl make a weird sound, sign that it is been official.

"Our new ever Alpha Female, let's all stand and get our hands together with, Alpha Mia Thria Moon of Silver West Pack!"

The horn wailed in a very loud sound. The people bow and clap their hands after, some even cheered.

I can't clap. I just can't. I'm too scared she might notice me. Just then as I plan to get out and ran away, I saw how her eyes turned gold. She sniff in the air.

'No way!' I shouted in my thoughts.

I stepped backwards and slowly making my way out, not even wanting to make a noise.

That moment when your heart literal skip a beat and all you just want to do is to shout in the whole world how suffocating you feel inside, I felt it. When Alpha Mia catch my sight, it was like as if my world freeze. Our bond is getting strong. She's my mate. Our mate. Her lips form something like 'mate'. Her eyes turned into shiny intense golden orbs.

I closed my eyes and decided to run. This is not right. I turned my back and ran into the forest. I just want to get alone, away from her.

But I forgot that my mate is an Alpha. She found me easily.

"Mine" she growled.

I stood here utterly shock from what she said.

Her pure intense silver eyes glowed from admiration which particularly sent shivers down my spine.

'It can't be! She's my Alpha for crying out loud! I can't be her mate at least not from the Omega like me!'
