Chapter 15: Beyond The Facade Part 4

1057 Words
I entered the room and my eyes immediately fell upon someone fast asleep on the sofa, their legs awkwardly dangling over the edge. When Rayan and I had gone to the room earlier, I had only gone in briefly to put down our suitcases without looking around. I hadn't even checked to see if Rayan was sleeping in bed or not. I put down the food I'd just bought and then looked around. The room had a mini kitchen and a small living room, with the bed enclosed by a partition that appeared to be a wardrobe, so it wasn't directly visible from the door. I looked around and saw that there was only one, seemingly king-size bed, which meant Rayan and I would have to share a bed during filming. Even though Rayan and I had only shared a bed last night, the thought of sleeping in the same bed for months already made me feel nervous and something was nagging at me. Last night, I had trouble sleeping knowing Rayan was sleeping next to me. Luckily, we were both drunk, and even luckier, Rayan's drunkenness meant sleeping. Even though I was drunk, I could still think rationally and only felt a slight headache. Last night, I spent quite a while staring at Rayan, sound asleep beside me. His face was indeed handsome, and I admit, it was hard not to get caught up in the desire to possess something beautiful. I had to distract myself before I could finally fall asleep. I stared at Rayan, who didn't seem to move. It seemed his head was very dizzy from being drunk. Furthermore, he seemed to wake up startled, so he wasn't fully awake, but instead woke up, which made his headache worse. I crouched beside the sofa and slowly removed the jacket that was still on Rayan's body. Rayan looked like he was about to wake up, but I reassured him, "Shhh, go back to sleep, I'll move you to bed." Rayan seemed to hear me and fell back asleep. I stroked his hair briefly before picking him up and carrying him to bed. Rayan was quite muscular, not skinny, and he clearly took good care of his body, so he wasn't easy to carry. However, I was strong enough to carry him, and I quite liked that. I pulled the blanket over Rayan before returning to the living room. I took the food I had bought and put it in the refrigerator after grabbing some food for myself. I sat on the sofa and ate my food slowly while reading my work documents on my tablet. I looked at the documents intently as I shoved a mouthful of food into my mouth. I ate for that seemed like quite a while, reading my work documents, until I heard Rayan cough, standing next to the bedroom partition. He looked at me awkwardly. I immediately put down my tablet and approached him, "Are you feeling better? Want something to eat? I bought some food earlier, including porridge, soup, and juice. I'll heat it up for you." Rayan looked at me and said softly, "I'm sorry I've been bothering you since yesterday. I can heat my own food, so just go ahead and eat." "No, it's no problem. I don't feel like you're bothering me at all. Now, sit down. Would you like some soup or porridge?" I said, taking Rayan's hand and leading him to the sofa. Rayan sat on the sofa, his head tilted back, looking at me with those beautiful eyes. "Just porridge, thank you." I smiled slightly and nodded, "Okay, wait here." I walked to the small kitchen in the corner of the room and prepared the porridge and juice I'd bought earlier. It didn't take long because I had a microwave I could use to warm up the cold porridge. I quickly brought it to Rayan's front desk, and he thanked me with a small smile. I sat next to Rayan and continued eating my cold food. Rayan glanced at me a few times, occasionally chatting about what I was doing. I didn't hide it from him, even asking his opinion. "Look, this is the design of the building that will be used for the boutique. The building is quite old, it hasn't been used for a long time. But I quite like it because the building's location is strategic but also not too conspicuous. I want to make this boutique more classy, as its target customer is indeed upper-class. However, the boutique is already well-known and we already have loyal customers, so opening this new branch is more about making it easier for our customers in the area to shop closer. I've been thinking about changing the shape and design of the building a bit, but I haven't found a suitable one yet because this building is vintage, and I don't want the changes to take away from the vintage feel of the original building. What do you think?" Rayan looked at the photo of the building I showed seriously while his mouth was still chewing his food. After he swallowed his food, he spoke slowly and his finger pointed to the photo I showed, "On this side there are some damages, I think this really needs to be repaired. Indeed, if it is made the same as the original it will still be good, changing that part might change the vintage atmosphere too. But, I think if you make it the same as before but you change the size to be smaller and minimalist, I think it will still make the vintage atmosphere still there but also not too excessive. And later you might have to play more with the paint color and texture to make it look more in line with the boutique's theme. I have never been to your boutique directly so I don't know if this new building will have the same vibe as your previous boutique. But, I think the branch boutique doesn't always have to create the same vibe but should show its own uniqueness. So that regular customers will feel a more unique shopping sensation in the new branch and maybe it will invite not only regular customers in that area but also customers from other areas who want to experience a different shopping sensation."
