A restaurant had been booked for the staff and actors' dinner before they left for the set the next day. I sat next to the director, and he kept my drink glass constantly full. I smiled slightly and took the glass of alcohol for a sip. I frowned, noticing the bitter taste of the alcohol, which wasn't my cup of tea. Understandably, this was a simple restaurant, and the drinks were cheap, so it was understandable if the taste didn't suit my palate. However, out of politeness, I didn't refuse and only drank as little as possible. Although it didn't seem to work.
I glanced at Rayan, who was sitting across from me, and he looked drunk. His cheeks, ears, and neck were flushed, adorning his tanned skin, adding to his beauty. I paused, staring at every detail of his face, not missing a beat. Perhaps because I'd been staring too long, Rayan glanced at me and gave me a small smile amidst his drunken expression. I immediately smiled at his expression.
Suddenly, my phone rang, and I picked it up to see who was calling. Seeing the name on the screen, I immediately turned to the director and asked permission to step out for a moment. "Director, I'm going out for a moment to make a phone call and smoke a cigarette to help ease my hangover."
The director, already quite drunk, simply nodded and continued drinking without saying much. I stood up and walked around looking for a place to sit. Next to the restaurant, there was a small alleyway between the two restaurants, filled with several large potted plants I could sit on. I sat down and took out my cigarette to take a drag before calling the person who had called me earlier inside.
"Hello," came a man's voice from the other end of the line.
"Hmm, what's up?" I replied, shaking my cigarette.
"Hey, are you drunk?" Brian asked, perhaps noticing my unusual tone.
"A little," I replied curtly.
"Sion, I just received some pretty shocking information. Do you want to hear it?" Brian said, as if there was something so funny he couldn't say directly that he had to beat around the bush.
"Just tell me what you need to say, I'm busy," I replied, taking another drag on my cigarette.
"Huh, I heard you broke up with Sua? Seriously? What's wrong with you two?" Brian asked, surprised.
"Yeah, I think so. Who did you find out from? I don't think I told anyone?" I asked, feeling a little annoyed by Brian's question.
"Sua sent your things, and as your secretary, I was the one who received them. So, what's wrong? Weren't you guys planning to get married? Besides, you've been together for a long time." Brian bombarded me with questions.
"Well, maybe we're just not on the same page anymore. Sua broke up with me, and I probably wasn't good enough for her," I replied, not wanting to explain anything.
While Brian was talking, something I didn't want to hear, I heard footsteps approaching, making me turn toward the source of the voice. I turned around and saw Rayan walking with his hand on the wall. After only two steps, he stopped and crouched down. I quickly put out my cigarette and threw it in the trash. I walked over to Rayan and saw him lower his head, emptying his stomach contents, which were mostly liquid.
I crouched down and gently patted his back. "You're so drunk, I'll take you home after this."
My call with Brian hadn't ended yet, and Brian could clearly hear me, so he fell silent but didn't hang up. I ended the call without further ado. I helped Rayan up and led him to sit on one of the large pots.
"Rayan, wait here. I'll get your jacket and bag, and then we'll go home. Don't go anywhere!" I said to Rayan gently, stroking his sweat-drenched face.
Rayan remained silent, unresponsive. I wiped his face once more before walking back into the restaurant to grab my jacket and bag, as well as Rayan's. I was actually going to say goodbye to the others, but most of them were already drunk, and some had already left the restaurant. So, I just grabbed my things and Rayan's and went out to pick him up.
I picked Rayan up and carried him to the side of the highway while waiting for a taxi to pass by. While we were waiting, Rayan suddenly leaned against me. Rayan murmured softly, "You're so handsome, senior. I like you."
Rayan's murmur startled me, and I glanced at him. I was about to say something when a car pulled up.Right in front of me, the passenger window opened, and Ethan was inside with another actor who seemed quite close to Ethan.
Ethan asked, "Sion, are you going to take Rayan home? Or are you just going to get him a taxi?"
Hearing Ethan's question, I replied, "I'll take him home."
"Okay then, be careful on the road," he said, nodding after hearing my answer, a strange smile appearing on his lips.
"Yeah, be careful on the road too. See you tomorrow afternoon," I replied, waving.
After Ethan left, a taxi approached. I immediately hailed it and helped Rayan, who had closed his eyes, into the car. I gave the taxi driver Rayan's address so I could take him home first before I went home myself. I had to make sure Rayan got back to his apartment safely.
When I arrived at Rayan's apartment, I tried to wake him, but he wouldn't wake up. I ended up carrying him on my back and carrying him into the apartment building. I remembered when I dropped Rayan off that he lived on the top floor of the apartment building because of the beautiful view and the rooftop. So I didn't have to think about which floor to press the elevator button on.
Now that I was on the top floor, I had to find Rayan's apartment. This apartment building had good security, as the elevator required a key, allowing only the key holder to enter and exit. Guests, besides the key holder, had to enter through the lobby, where security and lobby staff would contact the owner of the apartment to inform them of a visitor.
The key had a room number on it, so finding Rayan's apartment wasn't difficult. After finding Rayan's apartment, I opened the door and saw that Rayan's apartment was as aesthetically pleasing as its owner: beautiful and full of art.
I took off my shoes and placed them and Rayan's belongings on the shelf near the entrance. I looked around the room and found a door that seemed to be Rayan's bedroom. I opened it slowly, but when I opened the door, it was still empty, with no furniture, just cardboard boxes neatly stacked on one side of the room. I turned around and looked again at what I thought was just a living room, which looked neat and beautiful, along with a kitchen on the other side, and a large window overlooking the equally neat and beautiful rooftop area.
I stared at the sofa in the middle of the room. It was quite large, but not large enough for a grown man like Rayan's size to sleep on. However, it had what appeared to be the only pillow on the sofa, and a blanket neatly folded on the edge. I walked over to the sofa and laid Rayan down, his sleeping legs hanging uncomfortably over the sofa. I sighed and took my phone from my pocket.
