I watched her as she turned a slow circle around and around. Her eyes taking it all in. And the entire time she didn’t say a word.
I could do nothing but watch her. I needed her to say something and soon.
What was she thinking? Doubt niggled me. Maybe my hoard wasn’t as big as she had been expecting. Was she having doubts that I could look after her comfortably?
“Say something….” The words ripped out of my throat. “Please just say something.” Reaching for her, I let my hand slide over her waist. If she didn’t think I had enough treasure. Then I would get more.
I would give her everything she wanted.
