Wren She was alive , not only alive but she seemed unharmed. Happy to see me , eager to touch me and be near to me. Which I loved but unharmed. I couldn’t blame her for wanting to be close to me , I felt exactly the same. I didn’t just want to be close to her . I needed to. Which is why I carried her back into the house and away from all the bustle Dewi was throwing my way. We needed to talk blah blah blah. I didn’t need to talk , not yet anyway. What I needed to do was strip Opal naked and check over every inch of her milky skin to make sure she was an ok as she looked. “That one.” She pointed to one of the closed doors , her head barely lifting from where she was nuzzling into my throat. I was glad she had reminded me because I had barely listened to a word said downstairs.
