Not once in my entire life had I ever been this happy. And it wasn’t a fleeting happiness that was there one minute and gone the next. No, I woke up every morning with a smile on my face and went to sleep every night with my heart full of love and content.
Of course my jobs around the castle were tedious. But I was no illusion that I had it much better than most human slaves here. Yes my work was hard and my whole body hurt by the end of the day but Wren made sure I had more than enough food to fuel my body. I had a soft bed to sleep on every night , wrapped around a man who loved me.
And there was no doubt in my mind that Wren loved me. Just like I loved him.
It was more than his dragon saying I was his mate. More than just chemistry. It was real love. Human and raw.
