Chapter Six Mark had never expected in a million years that Billy Jo could clean up so well. She sat in the passenger side of his Jeep, wearing a soft blue spaghetti-strap dress that stopped just above the knees. She had always hidden her figure in boxy casual clothes, but she couldn’t hide it in that dress. She never wore makeup, either. He had to take a second look. She was cute—no, pretty, and wouldn’t get lost in a crowd. Now he had noticed her. Maybe that was why he was pulling at his tie, feeling how tight it was, as he stepped out into the parking lot, wearing a dark suit that he’d never worn once since being on the island.
