THE PROPOSAL

CHAPTER FIVE

At home, one of the maleservant came to Mr Bronte.

"Welcome sir, while you stepped out sir, a young man of about 21 years old whose name is Joe came around with this luggages, said you asked him to come live here and work for you" The male servant said....

Mr Bronte suddenly had a smile cross his face , as he knew who it was

"that's very correct, he's here because I asked him to, where is he now?" Mr Brine asked...

"in the visitors waiting room sir," he replied...

"Good, now take him to the boys squatters, the first flat there, that will be his house, he's my new driver and mechanic, make sure to take good care of him, I really like that boy, and tell him to make himself comfortable and should feel free to ask whenever he needs anything, tell him I also said I'll be with him soon" Mr Bronte ordered as he headed upstairs to meet his wife to break the news to her, while the servant left to do as he had instructed.

The servant got to Joe and told him all that Mr Bronte had said and took him to his own flat in the boys squatters, for Joe that would be the best place he had ever lived in, he was so grateful to God and to Mr Bronte who had showed him nothing but love and care ever since they met.

He put his things in order, had food to eat, had his bath, he picked up his phone to call his sister, but on a second thought, he know she'd be resting and didn't want to bother, so he brought out a photo of his late mom, with tears in his eyes, he sat on the bed and began to speak to the photo so passionately, telling it all their ordeal and how God had located him with a wonderful man who had a good heart....

Joe was so engrossed in it that he didn't know when Mr Bronte had walked into the room after knocking severally without response....

Sharon had repeatedly tried calling her lover who had ended up switching his phone

"oh God , what have I done to myself, how could I be so inconsiderate and ungrateful, Now James is mad at me" She lamented with tears....

she decided to get dressed and go to his place to plead and speak with him and reassure him that she wasn't going to let him go just because of money.

"Whoever that person is, it must be really precious to you" Mr Bronte finally spoke,

Joe who had not realized he had been standing there watching him was shocked...he quickly wiped off the tears in his eyes and stood up to greet his boss

"welcome sir, sorry, I didn't know you had arrived" He said as he stood up on his feet

Mr Bronte smiled....

"I've Ben standing for about 10minutes now, I see how passionately you spoke to the person on that picture, may I ask who it is? Mr Bronte responded as he sat down on the couch that was inside the room....

"My mom, sir, it's a photo of my mom, I speak to her about anything that's happening in my life and family, whether good or bad, I believe she hears me and she tries to help out" Joe said childishly as he sat down on his bed....

Mr Bronte smiled, " Can I see the picture?" He inquired...and Joe handed the picture to him.

There was sudden whiteness, as Joe wandered what was wrong, Mr Bronte's face change the moment he saw the picture, Joe noticed he was trying to be sure of the person he was seeing in the picture....

"Wait, what, Sophia?.....is this not Sophia?" Mr Bronte spoke out loud as he wandered...

"My mother's name is Sophia sir, Joe said svhocked as well...."Do you know her sir?" Joe inquired further more.

Mr Bronte broke down in tears, Now Joe was both shocked and confused, as Mr Bronte narrated the whole story.

"My parents where very Rich and as a matter of fact, my being a wealthy man today wasn't entirely my hard work, but my parents gave birth to just the two of us, Me first and your mom, Sophia, they gave us the best life, and I had grown to love and cherish my baby sister, Sophia, until a man came into her life, she was so much in love with this man, but my parents were against her marrying such man, they wanted her to marry a rich man that would handle her wealth and part of her possessions well for her, my parents felt any poor man that came around her only wanted to eat her money and didn't truly love her, and so they did all they could to stop their relationship, ranging from threats to so many other things, I wasn't really in support of them as I loved my sister dearly and wanted her to be happy, when it became unbearable for her, Sophia eloped with the man, We searched and searched and searched but was never able to find her, this tragedy lead to my moms heart attack, she had tried talking to my Dad to reconsider and let Sophia be happy, now he had made her elope, and couldn't be found, she eventually died or heart attack, this double pain of loosing both his beloved wife and most treasured daughter led to him having series of nightmares and attacks, my father's life was no longer in place, with that fear, he wrote his will, dividing his properties into two equal parts, one of me and one for my sister, he urged me to keep searching and when I find her, I should give her what's rightfully hers and also apologize to her on their behalf and allow her Love whomever she chooses, I had not given up on the search for my sister until few years ago when someone reported that she was long dead, I wrote bitterly not ever getting to see my baby girl again, and not being able to fulfill my dad's last wish...and since then I've been hoping, and praying, if she had children, that I would stumble into one,

little wonder I got to love you and became so attached to you the moment I knew you" As Mr Bronte ended his conservation, he was still crying, and Joe himself couldn't help himself as well, as he wrote bitterly....

Their mom had always told them that her family was rich but she had to separate from them because she lover their father so much.

When everyone became calm, Mr Bronte asked about his sister and requested that she be brought to him immediately and they could commence treatment for their father, because to him, his late sisters children were automatically his children and the love he would have showered on her, he'll pass it to them as well the possessions and wealth.

Joe called Sharon who had just settled with her lover to break the news....she wrote bitterly upon hearing all that Joe had told him, finally luck had found them, and so that evening, Sharon and James prepared to join the whole family for the dinner and welcoming back home party, at Mr Bronte's house.

While, Mr Bronte rushed back into his mansion to break the news to his wife and daughter, Mrs Bronte was happy that at last her husbands dearest wish was about to be accomplished, while Lily who had craved and longed for a sibling especially a sister was happy that she now had a family, and so all were anticipating to see each other.

It was evening, and you could just tell the excitement and joy and anticipation on every one's face, as Joe waited outside the gate to usher in her sister and sisters fiance into the house....well they actually arrived on time for the dinner.

The three walked into the big mansion, unknown to them that there were in for the biggest shock of their lives...

The servant took them to the dinning, as they sat down waiting for Mr Bronte and his family, Jayne also came as well....

Now , Mr Bronte walked down the stairs with his family following directly behind him, he couldn't contain his shock when he saw the people seated there....

"What!!!, he screamed...Sharon is your elder sister?" Mr Bronte screamed, there was shock written all over the faces of everyone in that living room that moment except for Joe who didn't understand what was happening....

And it was now time for apology, seeing how much they've almost ruined their own family,

Lily wept bitterly at how she had let her selfish desires almost ruin her sisters life...she went on her knees for the first time in her life and apologized to the shock of everyone.

Apologies and reconciliation was made, and everyone was happy again, as they enjoyed the dinner, Mr Bronte talked about flying his late sister husband abroad for proper surgery and returning half the wealth and possessions that was for his late sisters to his late sisters children as he had promised and as was the wish of his late father.....

Everything happened so fast, in less than a month, Sharon, Joe and ofcourse James were amongst the most wealthy and high class people in Barhrain, while Mr Arthur returned home sound and back to his feet again, ofcourse he was told all that happened all the time he was in coma, and he finally got to meet his late wife's elder brother, and the two men became like brothers....

Lily was flown abroad for surgery, after Mr Bronte's doctor friend called that there was now a cure for her ailment, Lily did not only return whole, but she returned with a man whom she had fallen in love with,

Lily's and Sharon's wedding happened on the same day, while Lily married Mr White, Sharon married her one and only true love James Leasor and everyone was happy at the end.
