Hidden shadows

Chapter one.

I was roughly pulled into a plain white room and pushed onto a single white doctors bed and strapped to it. The people that dragged me into this room left and two other people entered the room. A man and a women.

The women wore a white doctors coat and white plastic gloves. She pulled out a little box from her coat pocket. She opened the tiny bax to reveal 3 little tubs. She picked out the middle one which was a bright purple unlike the other two clear liquids in the other tubs.

The male who's face was blurry approach me and forced my mouth open while the women forced the purple liquid into my mouth.

Then everything went pitch black.

I jumped out of my seat when my little sister Alice shook me awake telling me that we had arrived.

I got out of the car and looked at the scenery around me. Our new house was 3 storys high and was surrounded by woods. The house also had a big white fence around it. I don't know why but ever we live my mum always chooses the house with a fence around it or she builds one around it.

I've asked her about it and she always replys with the same thing, "it's for your own protection". Protection from what you may ask, I honestly don't have a clue.

I shrugged my thoughts off and ran up the stairs so I could have first choice of bedrooms. I picked the bedroom with the balcony that had a tree right beside it, my perfect escape root.

The walls were already painted a nice light blue since my mum decided to paint the house before she even told us we were moving. I locked the door before Alice could even barge in here.

Alice started banging on the door and yell that it wasn't fair that I got first choice like I always did. While Alice was repeatedly banging on my door I got distracted by a group of tanned shirtless boys walking past dribbling a basketball around. They were hot.

I laughed when I realised one of the boys were checking my mum out while my mum was busy grabbing a few boxes out of the car boat. While checking my mum out he ended up walking into a lamp-post. I laughed and close the curtains when they looked up.

I went back to unpacking my belongings. Once I was done and satisfied with my room I went to bed. When I woke up the next morning I went straight downstairs and laid on the couch. I decided on watching pretty little liars.

I went and grabbed some snacks from the kitchen, I got some oreos, some jaffa cakes and some salt and vinegar pringles. I was watching it for about an hour when my mum came in the living room asking me if I want to go to her new horse riding school with her.

I got showered and changed then did my hair and make-up before joining my mum in her car. It was a long and silent drive to the ranch, when we finally got there my mum went straight to the crowd of students who were eagerly waiting for her.

I was almost near the crowd of people, a girl my age approached me and introduced herself as Ruby, She was very energetic and offered to show me around the school when she learnt that we were going to the same high school, I also learnt that her dad owns his own company and her mum is a fashion designer.

She invited me to a party that she was throwing at her house as her parents were on a business trip. She told me her address and we parted ways.

I headed to the stables while she headed back to the group. I grabbed my truck riding horse, Scarlet and saddled her up then both me and my horse joined my mum in the arena.

My mum got me to do a few tricks to show her students how it's done then after I finished everyone started clapping and parted ways to let me through the group of people. I put Scarlet back into her stall and gave her and my other horse Reble a carrot then I left the stables to rejoin my mum and her students.

My mum pulls me and Ruby to the side, away from the others and tells me that I was going to be Ruby's trick riding coach. When my mum left I sighed in frustration.

I'm already stressed with my grades and trying to get the back up and now I have to focus on being a coach, why can't mum coach her. Ruby sencing my frustration told me I didn't have to be her coach and that she can find someone else to coach her.

I forced a smile and told her that I will coach her. She squealed and hughed me saying thank you over and over again. I told her about my grades and she offered to find me a tutor.

When I got home I packed a few clothes for tonight and some make up then I called a taxi to pick me up and take me to Ruby's address.

I then snuck out of my bedroom balcony and claimed down the tree. I could of told my mum that I was having a sleep over at Ruby's and used the front door but sneaking out is way more fun and exciting.

I got into the taxi and put my earphones in, when I got to Ruby's I paid the taxi driver and ran to Ruby's door and knocked.

She opened the door and dragged me inside and up to her room the pushed me into her bathroom that was connected to her room and told me to change in there.

I put on a simple white sleeveless t-shirt and my black sparkle skirt. I put on my black high heels and my leather jacket. I did my make up, I put on my usual everyday dark red lipstick and headed into Ruby's bedroom to see her in a sparkly silver dress and black high heeled boats. She also had a leather jacket on. She left me to curl my hair while she let the guests in.

When I got downstairs the house was packed with people. The party was already in full swing. The music was blasting at high volume. The room already reaked of alcohol and teens were grinding against each other, drinking or making out.

I headed straight for the kitchen to get a drink when I bumped into this hot guy with black hair with baby blue eyes. I backed up a bit and apologised then walked straight past him to get my drink.

After a few drinks I was already tipsy and leaning on a guy I was talking to for balence. His name was Dylan and he was hilarious. He was also the one who bumped into the lamppost earlier. He was soo embarrassed when I brought that up.

Dylan introduced me to Nevra and her boyfriend Tyler. Nevra was also a close friend of Ruby's. Nevra was a year older than me, so was Ty.

Ty had dark brown hair and green eyes while Nevra had light brown hair and blue eyes. They were the most hilarious couple I've ever met, always bickering with each other.

Ruby ran towards us, almost tripping over as she went. Looks like I'm not the only one that had a little too much to drink. She dragged us all into the bassment were some people were playing drunk janga.

All the dunking teen's eyes were glued to me, watching my every move. Sucks being the new girl.

We all joined the group and Ruby introduced me to everyone. There was the twins Ryan and Ashley and Mason, the hot boy I bumped into earlier and some others that I forgot the names off.

Ruby's pov

I got my new best friend to play drunk janga with me and some of my other friends. Dylan was the first to pick a block. Dylan face planted while reading it.

He had to do the 69 position with the person on his right. Ryan happened to be the lucky guy. Boy did he look happy.

Ryan has always had a thing for Dylan, it's no secret even though he thinks it is.

Dylan groaned but laid on the floor anyway and Ryan got on top of him. They laid like that for at least 5 seconds. "Okay you can get of me now" Dylan pushed him off of him. Ryan pouted and everyone laughed.

Next up was Jade, she had to kiss the person across from her, who happened to be Mason, Aka the boy who I hate the most. We used to date and he broke my heart, I never dated after that.

Jade looked at Damien, her cheater of a boyfriend and smirked and leaned over to Mason and kissed him. In that moment I felt jealous of her but I shook the feeling off. I don't need him. I'm not that girl anymore. She's gone.

Jade pulled away from Mason with with another smirk on her face. Damien looked pissed.

He got up and stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind him. I looked over at Mason who was on the floor, unconscious. His notorious for being a player but one kiss from the girl he likes and he faints. I laughed at the thought. "Damn I wish boys would fall for me like that" Ryan sighed dreamily. Holly giggled while walking out of the room.

Holly's pov

I walked past Damien who was flirting with a red hair girl. Ruby told me all about him and his cheating ways. No wonder his girlfriend kissed Mason. As I was busy glaring at Damien and that girl, I bumped into someone. What's with me and bumping into people?, I looked up to see the most handsome guy I'd ever seen. He had memorising green eyes that shines like emeralds. Okay I'm definitely drunk right now

He tried talking to me but I couldn't hear him over the loud music, anyway I was to busy noticing his kissable lips move. Ruby was suddenly beside me, nudging me "I see you have met Joe".

"Oh, yeah Joe" I giggled waving at him and accidentally stumbling backwards. Ruby quickly catched me before I fell onto the ground. "Okay, you've had enough to drink. I'm going take you upstairs" Ruby laughed.

"Joe can do the honours" I said drunkly. Joe laughed and pick me up holsting me over his shoulders. I waved at Ruby and giggled drunkly as Joe took me upstairs.

Joe's pov

I took Holly upstairs and put her in the guest room next to Ruby's room. I put Holly into bed and walked out of the room despite Holly's protests.

On my way back dawn stairs I saw Damien and a red haired girl rushing to a guest bedroom while laughing. I glared at him as I past him and he glared right back at me, challenging me.

I walked to Mason who was in the kitchen having a drink "Why does Jade put up with his s**t? I asked him, pissed off.

"Who knows but it looks like Jade's about to strip, again" he growled and rushed over to Jade, stopping her from stripping and dragged her of the table and over his shoulders. "PUT ME DOWN!" Jade yelled hitting his back. Mason didn't even flinch once.

Jade gives up after a while and goes limp for a while then she suddenly says "You smell good" to him. Me and Mason laughed.

Mason tells me his gonna take her home and the come back when she's asleep. Jade only lives a couple doors down from Ruby's.

"WHY ARE YOU BOYS SO GRABBY?" Sasha moaned over Dylan's shoulder. "I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE, DYLAN PUT ME DOWN!, GO BAcK TO RYAN!" I laughed at her last sentence while Dylan shivered in disgust. Sasha continued to try to get out of Dylan's grip but failed.

"Being a Werewolf has it's perks" Dylan mind-linked me then he left with Sasha still over his shoulder.

The party was slowly dying down, everyone but Me, Mason, Cameron, Ryan and Ashley stayed back to help Ruby clean up.

Ryan came down the stairs with a disgusted look on his face while holding a used Condom "Damien really needs to learn how to take his trash out". We all laughed at that.

"Are you talking about the Condoms or the girls?" Cameron asked handing the black bin to him.

"Both" He kicked the bag back over to Cameron once he had deposed of the condom. He the turned to his sister "You do know you have a d**k on your cheek, right?" he asked her.

"Yeah I'm aware" she sneered, and carried on cleaning.

Once we had finished, Cameron offered us all a ride back home.

The second Cameron had dropped Ryan and Ashley off, Mason decided to open his gob. He was yapping about Jade kissing him "At least I didn't have to play a game for Holly to throw herself at me" I shot at him. That shut him up.

"Speaking of girls Cloe kissed me and told me she likes me" Cameron bragged when we got to our house.

"About time, dude. The s****l tension between you two was suffocating me" Mason moaned.

"So what are you going to do about it" I unlocked the front door. "I'm planning on asking her out tomorrow" He said following me up the stairs. I headed to my room and fell asleep thinking about the green eyed girl, Holly.

Holly's pov

I had breakfast at Ruby's then got a taxi back home. I walked straight through the front door since I know mum would be at work at this time it was 10:30 am so my mum left an hour and a half ago.

I went into the kitchen and made myself some coffee. Once made I took a sip and burnt myself. Ouch, stupid Holly. "You need to remember to leave it to cool down" Alice said walking into the kitchen and making her self a cup of tea. I grimaced at it.

"How can anyone drink that?" I asked myself. Alice just laughed and went back into the living room with her cup of tea.

"I don't know what I'll ever do with out you" I looked at my coffee dreamily.

After I finished my coffee I went upstairs.

Alice's door was open so I had a little noisy inside and found my laptop on her bed. I went inside her room and took my laptop back, walking into my room I yelled at to stop taking my stuff "ALICE STAY THE HELL OUT OF MY ROOM AND STOP TAKING MY STUFF!" I slammed my door shut and hid my laptop in my floorboardand and put my ruge back over it.

I the decided that I need new clothes for school tomorrow and being the generous older sister I am, I decided to take Alice shopping with me. I called a taxi to take us into the city and we were on our way. It was an hours drive to the city but it was worth it.

I got some really nice clothes and I got myself a new leather jacket and Alice got this really nice denim jacket. After shopping we got ourselves a Mcdonalds and a shack. I got an oreo shake while Alice got a smartie one.

I admit I miss having days like this with Alice, as we got older we seemed to be drifting apart. We got a taxi back home and I went straight to my room to put my new clothes away.

I decided that I was going to wear my new black ripped jeans with my white shoulderless t-shirt and my new leather jacket and some white and black sketches to go with it.

THE NEXT DAY

Mum dropped me and Alice off at school it was the same as any other school we have been to. The same big brick building and the same boring old people. Like any other school out there, you have the nerds, the goths, the jocks, the cheerleaders, the skaters and the Queen bee, in this case the Queen bee is Bella. A real life barbie doll that wears too much pink and too much make up. I met her earlier today in first period. I swear she has absolutely no brains whatsoever.

Right now it was lunch and I was sitting with Ruby and Nevra who I met at the party. I made a few other friends at the party but I was too drunk to remember. A bunch of hot boys came through the door. "Who are they? I asked Ruby.

"That's Dylan" Dylan was the first one through the door. He had black skin, brown eyes and black hair. I remembered him from the party.

"That's Ethan" Ethan was the second one through the door. He was pale with brown hair and brown eyes.

"That's Tyler" I also remember him from the party. He was slightly tanned and had brown hair and green eyes.

"That's the twins, Cameron and Mason" they both had black hair and baby blue eyes and dark tanned skin. Cameron was a bit taller and buffer than Mason.

"last but not least, we have Joe" Joe was the last one through the door. He was tanned, had light brown hair and emerald green eyes. He was the hottest of them all and that's saying something because they are HOT.

"Girl snap out of it" Ruby nudged me. The boys walked past us and sate next to four girls.

Cameron put his arm over the blond girl and kissed her cheek making her blush a bright red colour. Joe looked my way and I turned away facing Nevra. Joe continued to stare at me all through lunch.

When the bell rang I rushed to Maths. I was next to Joe in maths and all through maths he stared at me not saying a word just staring at me but oddly his stare didn't make me feel uncomfortable.

I was relieved when it was the end of the day.

Although Joe's stare didn't make me uncomfortable, it was weird and I was glad to be away from it. As I was getting in my mum's car, I saw Joe get on a motorbike and speed off past me while four other motorcycles followed him, Cameron, Mason, Dylan and Tyler.

Once I was home I had dinner then had a shower and went to bed thinking of Joe. Why was he staring at me like that?.
