Chapter Ten: Conspiracy

1516 Words

The drive from the library to her home in the suburb of Decatur wasn’t so bad, especially seeing how Lettie had spaced out and missed the worst of the evening rush hour traffic. She’d originally wanted a place in midtown, but after spending a few weeks in a midtown hotel while she looked for a place to live, she quickly realized that city life just wasn’t for her. Plus, she couldn’t justify the cost - even if Chris was helping her out with a down payment. Living Atlanta proper sounded romantic and exciting, but the reality was louder, dirtier and smellier than a small town girl like Nicolette felt comfortable with. Being a reasonable driving distance to the city turned out to be much more her speed; she could enjoy all the amenities the city had to offer with far less of the downsides.
