¶¶Moonlight Coast¶¶
Flashback.
A woman ran through the woods in the gloomy night while she clutched a kid tightly across her chest.
Her red hair sprawled across her face as she huddled faster in her sprint mode, her short white gown, torn on the edges, giving her free movement, whatever had happened, the woman had torn her gown herself.
The moon was red like blood which made everywhere illuminate a shade of red.
It was the blood moon.
The baby she clutched in her arms whimpers, the lady stopped running and held the baby before her, her eyes turned green and the baby quietened and slowly dozed off into dreamland.
She looked around and swayed her hand, dried and some particles of sand rose up, she gently placed her baby on the mini hole she had magically dug on the ground and covered the baby back with the hands and leaves that still flowed in the air.
It was a perfect hideout.
No supernatural would ever think there was a baby there.
The woman resumed her sprint but sounds of bats creaks and animal growls heading her way followed.
She ran some distance until she felt something hit her from behind.
She yelped as she fell face flat to the ground, soon, figures zoomed in all around her while she slowly made her way up.
Her arm dripping of blood, her face also bruised from the fall.
Soon, huge bats landed on the floor and they also transformed to pale skinned creatures.
Long fangs, long claws and wild growls etched in their throats.
She was a one woman against an army of wolves and vampires.
"Mera... You can't run from your fate" A masculine voice that wields immense power said, a huge man came forward towards the woman who appeared to be Mera.
He was an alpha.
Another pale skinned vampire walked forward, now standing beside the Alpha, his claws and fangs displaying while blood dropped from his mouth.
"You think I'm running from my fate? You cowards! You poisoned my race, we all thought we were allies!" Mara said in anger.
Blood slowly dropping from her mouth.
"Allies?" The vampire chuckled darkly.
"We became enemies ever since you mated with the hunter, Morrison!"
It was the turn of Mera to laugh even when she was in pains.
"Don't tell me you all are afraid of Morrison, of what he could do?" Mera mocked.
"You know better, Mera..." The Alpha interjected.
"We have to kill you and your clan before you birth that Abomination!" He added.
"You all think you can kill me? Same way you killed my clan?" Mera asked.
"The poison is too strong Mera, you can't fight it, your powers have been weakened and now, we stand the chance to rip your heart out" The vampire said.
Mera smiled sadly as tears brewed in her eyes.
"Forgive me Morrison" She said and everywhere darkened.
.
.
.
Drey jumped from his bed as sweats flowed on his face and his heartbeat beat against his chest faster than normal.
What was the dream about?
Why was he having a dream that involved Mera?
He knew about Mera and Morrison because he had been taught by the hunters on one of their history lessons.
Who wouldn't know Mera, The Hybrid?
He slowly jumped off his bed and he walked towards the cottage's small window and opened it.
It was still afternoon.
's**t!' He cursed.
After he had come back from Sherlock Academy, he had planned on taking a small nap and going to the training ground to learn some skills but since he had been tired on his way back, he had slept off as his back landed on the small but comfy bed.
"Little fellow" A deep guttural voice called.
Drey froze, he knew that voice well.
"Sir Herald..." He gulped.
He knew he was in deep s**t, he had been late for training because of his useless sleep.
Herald Rake might be old with white beards but his voice, Thick and agile like a youth was still there that you would never believe he was old.
"I'm really sorry for not coming for the training, I deserve the worst punishment from you!" Drey said and he bowed.
Herald walked stepped into the cottage since he had been outside for a while and stood in front of Drey.
"Stand up Little fellow, luckily for you, there was no training" Herald said.
Drey raised his head up while his eyes lit up in relief.
"Really?" Drey asked.
"Yes" Herald replied.
Drey wobbled to his feet in relief.
.
.
"Why is there no training today?" Drey asked.
By now, both men walked together beside along a beautiful flower garden.
"Huum... There's a silent war going on"
"War? How? When?" Drey asked in surprise.
"Too much questions at a time Little fellow" Herald said.
"It's the war between the Wolves and the vampires, from our sources, seems like the wolves invaded the vampires territory and killed some Wolves after Kyle, the leader of the Vampires sparked some fuss in the academy some days ago and now, the vampires had invaded the Wolves territory and killed some wolves too" Herald explained.
Drey frowned as he listened.
"Do you have something on the Academy as we have told you to spy on those wolves?" Herald asked.
"Yes... I have my eyes on Malia, the daughter of Alpha Thawne but there's this bodyguard he has, Skylar, son of beta Wilfred who seems to never allow me get closer to her, He seems like someone I can handle but I didn't wanna fight him and then, some days back, Kyle came to the Academy, He faced off with Skylar when he wanted to see Malia, seems like he has a thing for her, Skylar... That guy wasn't even afraid he might get killed, Kyle had to vent his anger out on me as he figured out I was human. I have never felt so much fear and power as Kyle pinned me to the wall" Drey explained as the events of that day played in his head.
Herald Rake, meanwhile listened attentively.
"Wait... Skylar... I've heard rumors and news about him, He had almost defeated his father at fifteen"
"What?" Drey asked with surprise and shock written on him.
"Yes Drey... He's powerful, at least for his age, he could take on some Alphas... He's something I fear him to be like the prophecy stated but I'm not sure!" Herald explained.
"What prophecy?" Drey asked.
Herald crossed his arm on Drey's shoulder.
"The prophecy is not what should be told anyone, but since you are a spy for us, then you should know some basic things.
The Ruthless Hybrid, The Hybrid Abomination and the Demon Wolf..." Herald explained.
"I have heard nothing of them, who are they?" Drey asked, confused.
"We don't know but like the prophecy said, both entities would have to battle over a woman and its gonna be disastrous..."
"Okay okay... I don't understand" Drey admitted.
"That's it, you can't understand... The prophecy isn't complete, no one knows if they are yet in existence but one thing is sure... Another blood moon will take place" Herald said.
