KIERA A bundle of soft, distorted sounds reached my ears before I could lift the heavy eyelids. Someone was hushing, machines beeping…clattering sound of steel against steel. The silence was so heavy in the room that every little whisper sounded like noise. Where the hell was I? A groan slipped past my lips before I slowly opened my eyes. And immediately, the pale white and blue room came alive in my vision. With an enormous effort, I tried to strain my neck a little to my right and saw him curled up on the couch. His head was thrown back, his form asleep and quiet.  And just like that, every memory came flooding into the back of my skull in the form of a throbbing headache.
