Song for this Chapter: Without You-Charlie Wilson CHAPTER 89 DIESEL ***FIVE YEARS LATER*** Five years. So many has happened in that span of five years. So many yet so incomplete. In that five years, Carina and I continued our journey together in Europe. I didn’t say that it was easy for her to get along with me after what happened five years ago. For all I can see say, my wife stayed with me even if she’s hurting and I am in pain. She stayed with me along with my suffering. I turn into someone I promised I wouldn’t be. I turn to an alcoholic person just like someone I tried running away from ever since. But when seven months have passed in Europe without my best friend in our life, My Son came along in our journey. Carina gave birth to Manic. Or that’s what I call him, but his Mom call him Martin André Mayhem. He changed my life. When my wife have to had birth while I am not beside her, because I am inside the filthy bar in Europe, and I have to beg my way inside the room she was in because no one had believe me that I am her husband, and when she smiled when she saw me instead of slapping me for not be able to be present when she’s giving birth, when she let me held our son for the first time eventhough I am reeking in alcohol, I wanted to change for her. This woman trusted me with her soul and love me with all her heart. She doesn’t deserve any of this. So, I changed. It wasn’t easy, but she and my son will always be there. To help me along the way. I had fallen in love with my wife, and I didn’t expect that it could happen in just one snap especially when I thought that I couldn’t love anyone but Corinne. I still love Corinne. But it feels like every time that passed, it just become s happy and distant memory that I am glad to look back to. For five years, we still didn’t caught the culprit. Her r****t. Uncle Havoc tried his very best to mingle in the investigation of why the flight of Corinne was the one to explode, having to need the connection between Corinne’s death and the Mafia organizations. But based on the initial investigation, it was because of overheating of machinery. It was just a very tragic incident that took then life of someone whose so heavenly. “Hey, you okay?” Carina squeezed my hand beside me as we’re walking out of the John F. Kennedy airport. Memories. This is where the last time I saw her. I smiled and nods as I kissed my wife’s forehead and our son that she’s carrying. “I am. Feels good to be home.” Carina smile “I know.” So, recap. Last week, I got a call from Uncle Havoc that telling me that I needed to come home. I heard Blaze, was the best in his job and he is unstoppable in the field. So, I really don’t know why the urge to make me go back home, but I couldn’t say, I can’t complain. How I love to be back home after five years of being banished. My phone rang and it is Uncle Havoc. I sigh and look at my wife and I saw she is nervous. She knows what we are. She knows how dangerous our work can be. “Go on, answer it.” I nod and hit answer “Uncle?” “Have you arrived safely with my Grandson?” there’s an excitement in his voice that made me smile warmly as I am looking at Manic. Uncle Havoc is dangerous and troubled person, but he is a kindred heart. “We are.” “Got a house for you in New York. Think of that as my apology for what I did.” I chuckle “That’s a very generous apology.” He chuckles on the other line. “Go, meet Blaze.” “Do I have to?” He sighs “I know you hates my Son, but he needs someone. And it was you.” I nod “Sure.” Time to meet the Devil.
