Paint My Love-Michael Learns to Rock
CHAPTER 90
DIESEL
As soon as I settled my family to this manor house that Uncle Havoc gifted us, I immediately went to the Cosa Nostra building that is conned as a very fancy and luxurious shipment company both locally and internationally.
It's Blaze’s idea.
To hide all the hidden finances and transaction of the Mafia from the opposed government and his idea impressed me.
As soon as you enter the establishment, the modern sophistication of the place is revealed to you.
And gladly, even if I was missing for five years, the people around here still knows about mex still know who I am.
That’s why I didn’t have any trouble entering and going up to the executives’ floor. Uncle told me that he had also informed Blaze that I would have an executive position in the company, and that Blaze did not object to this as well as to me going home to New York with my family.
And that surprised me.
I guess, I just have to be careful.
As soon as I went up to the executive floor, I was greeted by the staff and take note that the executive floor is in the Penthouse. I shouldn’t be surprised, as I know Blaze he has this fascination with fluent places. Just like the house he and Corinne bought after they got married. As far as I know, until now Blaze has not let go of the Penthouse even though he has moved to a Manor in Manhattan.
Sounds interesting, right?
For someone who didn’t even care about his wife’s death, and knowing his power that he have now, it was so easy for him to know what went down to his passed wife five years ago, But he didn’t made any effort. From what I heard.
“Wassup my man!” A greet broke my trance from a voice I knew so well.
It is Marv.
“Marv.” Both of us hugs each other like we missed each other so much. Actually, we really do. Marv is one of my good friends, and now, he’s Blaze’s financial advisor.
“Party tonight? Welcoming back the tanker! The boys missed you!” He shriek excitedly.
I chuckle “Maybe next time.”
He clicks his tongue “Yeah, maybe. I don’t want Carina to kill me on your first night going back here in New York.”
I chuckle and Marv pointed to the close cubicle “—that’s going to be your office.”
“Thank you, Marv.”
“I let you settle in.”
“Wait.” I hesitate to ask him. “How’s my f*****g cousin doing?”
He chuckle bitterly and looks to Blaze’s office on the far end corner of the floor “Not good. But he’s like a machine. He never stops working.”
“yeah, that’s what I heard too.”
“I don’t know, but you wouldn’t believe me if I tell you that I think her death took a toll on him.” There’s a hint of sadness in Marv’s tone.
I pat his shoulder “Maybe, I should just say hello to him.”
He groans “Please, don’t fight on your first day.”
I smirk “I can’t guarantee you that.”
I made my way towards Blaze’s office and his secretary let me.
If I am still single, I would hit her off. She looks sexy and sophisticated.
As soon as I opened the glass tinted door, Blaze is standing watching the busy streets of New York below him with a glass of scotch and cigarette on his hand.
“Is this who they called a very hardworking man? Having drinks in the middle of office hours?” I start.
But instead of looking at me, he took a hit of his cigarette “Shut up. You’re here to work not to mingle in my life.”
I chuckle bitterly “True. I just came by to say hello.”
He walks on his desk and didn’t even cast me a glance. For years, he looks much older and broader. He looks more dangerous and monstrous.
And for the first time, I felt this scary sensation with him. What happened?
“You don’t have to.” He opened a passage behind me, and I caught a glimpse of what it looks like Corinne’s Angry god? But I am not sure because the passage closes instantly.
What is that place?
