Song for this Chapter: I Like Me Better-Lauv CHAPTER 76 CORINNE I took the whole day to escape the house. I went straight to Julliard’s to get familiarized with the surroundings and I couldn’t be much happier and excited about my study here for upcoming years. I didn't see Blaze again after the fight we had last night, but I know he was in his office after spending the night. I don't know if it's my fault why I was so hurt last night, maybe because I expected too much from him, I expected that he would honor our marriage and our promised vow? Or I hoped too much that there was hope for both of us. After a long and tiring yet productive day that I spent inside the vintage yet sophisticated doors, walls and windows of Julliard's, I decide to sit in the student's park of the campus while students watch me, simple students who hardly think about anything but the grades, tuition or place to live in. Not to sound transparent or insensitive, I know how hard it is for a student to just graduate. But as I sit and watch them, how I wish that the problem I'm facing now is the same, and not just politics and mafia society. "So, when will you sign the papers for your enrollment here at Julliard's?" A man in his thirties approached me who I remember was in my exhibition before. I chuckle, took a deep breath and look at the Julliard’s once again “As soon as possible.” He smiled at me and shakes my hand “I am Dean Rochester. It was our honor to have you here at Julliard’s with us.” I smiled at him genuinely, I need such words that keep my feet on the ground “Thank you so much, it was my honor too to be invited to study my masters here in Julliard’s.” When I finished at Julliard, I have a coffee on my hand because it's been a while since we talked with Dean Rochester, he introduces me to some various art students who in his own words loved my Angry God. Too bad, the Angry God I struggled with before is gone. I went out of the campus exit and saw a person that I at least expected in this place, or let's say that I don't want to see in this time because it only reminds me of what happened last night. He was leaning on the hood of his car with a sunglass, and he looks like a very fine wine. Pure gorgeous and sophistication yet so very sexy. What is he doing here? Does he have another woman that studying in here? I stilled when his gaze lands on mine directly. He was gaining so much attention especially for the girls. I walk towards him and he did the same, meeting me halfway. “What are you doing here?” He looks around the Julliard’s and sighs “Here to get you.” “I came here on my own, I don’t need you to pick me up.” I tried to walk passed him but he immediately holds my hand and stops me. “What?” “Can we have dinner? You didn’t cook me some before leaving home.” “Excuse me?” and he expect me to cook him food after seeing him having s*x with another woman? The f*****g nerve of this stubborn yet handsome man. “Please, I didn’t eat all day.” And my conscience immediately worked on his words. “I thought you liked to cook for yourself?” “Please, I am starving.” I sigh and roll my eyes “Fine.” He decides to eat at a vintage vibe cafe near Julliard's. I only ordered the one and only red velvet and French vanilla coffee. While he had steak, pasta and cake eaten in front of him. I guess, he is really hungry. We didn’t really talk about anything since we got here, just a simple question that what I want to eat or so. Not addressing our real problem right now. But I don’t mind the silence as I am enjoying the thick, moist and very flavorful red velvet cake I have. this is so delicious, I guess I would be back in this café for a long time. I am at peace but my silence with my cake was broken when he recklessly took a forkful of my cake. I stopped. For me, red velvet is my comfort food, ask for everything just not my red velvet. I looked at him, enjoying my own cake. “You like this one?” “I did.” He sighs “I am sorry.” he looks into my eyes, from what I see it was a sincere apology for what? For eating my cake or for hurting me? I continued eating the rest of the cake “For what?” I shrug. “For what I did last night.” I look at him, he didn’t utter any word after that. “You are jealous.” He didn’t deny what I just told him, instead he just gave me a stern look on his face. “—If you’re jealous that I kissed another man in front of you, what else am I every time I know that you and your mistress are together? I know our marriage, you don't like it. But I hope you at least do what you only asked me after our marriage. And that is respect. I'm still your wife, Blaze." I wiped my tears. “—I am not trying to control you. I just need you to respect me the way I am doing to you. I am being faithful and loyal to you.” He sighs and unable to look at me “Soon, Corinne. Soon.” “Soon what?” I scoffed. "--maybe when the one you've been waiting for comes soon, I won't care about you anymore, Blaze. And the saddest part, maybe I won't have any love left for you after that." We didn’t say another word. Sorry is just nothing when you still do it all over again.
