CHAPTER 99
ERIKA
The drive was long but at least I could prepare myself from what is coming.
I didn’t know that I had fallen asleep on the drive, and surprisingly, thirty minutes ago when we park outside his massive modern mansion, he didn’t wake me up, he just let me sleep. And he’s just there sitting beside me inside the limousine calmly, watching me.
My pulse quickens when I feel his gaze on me, I can feel it lingering all over my body. The type that make your skin crawl, I still didn’t know if it’s in a good way or a bad way.
I may be a girl from Forks with less people to interact with, but I am not naïve.
I am familiar with the looks that this Mister Mayhem’s giving me.
Lust and Longing.
I can see it in his eyes.
I can feel it in his veins.
I can hear it on his pulse and heart.
I attract him.
It’s my best shot at my freedom. If I use that right, I can get out of this situation once and for all.
I have to come up with a plan before I even dare to step foot inside his den. Because I know, once I get in, there’s no way out.
Then an absurd idea pops up, I know it’s a punch in a moon if I will be given the chance, but it’s all I have.
It was me or him.
Until he dies, he says. Then he leaves me no choice for what I am about to do.
Because that is what I am going to do every little chance I got.
“What’s this?” I axed.
“Told you already, my house”
I looked at the mansion again, it was far from being just a house “It wasn’t just a house.”
He chuckles low “Don’t worry, there’s no other woman living there if that’s what you’re thinking about.”
My head snaps “You mean, you didn’t put your kidnapped victims here?”
His eyes darken, and once again, I am afraid of that deep burst of color of it. “I don’t do kidnaps.”
It is my time to scoff sarcastically “That’s—that’s odd.”
His side of the door burst open as he circled the car and opened mine “Time to leave.”
I stepped my foot out of the car and takes in my surrounding. The weather isn’t different in Forks, cold and wet.
I can even hear the fall from nearby.
“There’s a fall at the back of the mansion.” He says, as if reading my mind.
I gasped. How rich is this man is, how powerful he is? Having his house near a fall? What is the actual f**k.
When we get inside the interior of the mansion is minimalist black and gray that suited him. He gave me a quick tour of the mansion, as per his words, this will be my sanctuary for the next few years.
Not for long, asshole. I wanted to scream at him.
He pointed and open a door, the first door you can see on that hallway. Actually, there’s only two doors on that hallway, and by the end of that hall is another close door.
“This is my room.” Same interior as the whole mansion, it was so huge like it’s the own size of our house in Forks. And the stale smell of cigarette and coffee engulfs me, his scent.
For some reason, I find it—a major turns on? I don’t know. I shrug the feeling.
He led me on the far end of the hallway and open the door, but when I opened it, the room was full of bursting colors and some girl stuffs, painting stuffs, and even sculpture. Whose room is this?
“You should stay here.” He says in a low voice.
“whose room is this?”
“From someone—but you don’t have to worry that she will barge in here mad for you staying in her room. She was not around anymore.”
I looked at him “Who is she? Is she just like me?”
“Sort of.”
My breath hitches, there’s someone like me. but where is she now? where did he put her?
He put his hand on my shoulder, he’s now standing behind my back “Unfortunately, she is the most stubborn woman I had ever seen. She can’t behave, and she has her own willpower to defy me. and now—” he stopped, his breath breaks. “—She’s gone.”
I walk inside the room to avoid the building fear inside me, I walk inside the room before he feels that I am now shaking in fear. I can’t let him feel that I am scared of him, for he may use it at any given moment.
What captures my attention is the floor to ceiling window that is centered in the view of the falls at the back. The room has the best view from the fall. I walk pass to the bedroom and the sculptures that’s in the room, touch it, and it fascinates me that someone can do something so great like the sculpture.
“Isn’t that great?”
I nod, truly captivated by the sculpture. “It is.” I answered smiling.
“You can use those if you want.”
I looked at him still leaning on the doorframe. “Why?”
“You said you wanted to paint, but your Father won’t let you?”
I nod. “But this isn’t mine.” I sat down on the comfortable bed, too far from the bed I have in the house. But I miss mine already.
He sighs in defeat “You’re right.” He closes the door and leaves me inside while watching the waterfalls just outside the bedroom. I stood up and tried opening the door, only to find that it was locked. That asshole.
Then my attention was back at the sculpture, I realized that it was him with his body without any torso. Who is she? What is she? Where is she?
