Song for this Chapter: On the Wings of Love-Kyla CHAPTER 56 CORINNE The nervousness I felt on the day of Diesel and Carina's wedding is nothing like the nervousness in my chest today on my own wedding day. I still can't believe that until now no one has stopped our marriage, and now I'm here outside the door of the church of St. Patrick while hearing the bell ringing around. I took a very deep calm breath when some of the assistants of our wedding coordinator told me that they will open the door any second now. I don’t know what’s making me nervous but I know one thing that made me calm. Having to walk in the aisle and looking forward to him, seeing our future together after this. That made me calm. A violin plays on the tune of You Are the Reason by Calum Scott and Leona Lewis plays inside the holy church of St. Patrick. I didn’t choose this song, but my heart swell when I heard it. A girl is smiling at me, she’s the one whose assisting me on my long wedding veil “Your groom chooses this song.” She said with a blush of pink on her cheeks. “What? We didn’t choose songs that day.” I am confused. She nods “He did, I heard ha calls the night you two went home that day and he told specifically to play this song while you were walking on the aisle.” It can’t be. How can he choose this song? I mean why bother choosing a song for a wedding you didn’t even want to be in the first place, right? “It’s time.” She said. Little by little, the big doors of St. Patrick Church open, but I'm not looking ahead. Instead, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath for a while and when I looked up, the place is as magical as the song, and the song is as perfect as him who’s standing so perfectly on the altar looking at me, waiting for me. The church is full of white, cream and rust color of flowers everywhere, while the carpet I am walking on is gold. How can I avoid crying when I am in front of my dream wedding I used to have when I am little? It’s so perfect. I start to walk slowly towards him, towards the man I chose to marry. Towards the man who made me safe and scared, towards the boy I had knew when I was little, my first love, towards the man who made me feel bad and good at the same time. I didn’t even notice the hundreds of people whose here with us today, all I can see while I walk closer and closer to the altar is him, his dark chocolate eyes, his neck that some his tattoos peeked at. Every small detail, I noticed it about him. And everything went in slow motion as hundreds of butterflies starts flying everywhere. This is so magical and exquisite. I couldn’t have this wedding the other way, I loved it just like this. The ceremony goes on and when Father tells us to both to preach our wedding vow he starts first, he goes: “You are the flesh of my body, a blood in vein, the strength in my bones, the voices I whispers, the colors I see, the sweet smell I smell, the song I sing, and the rhythm in my ears. And that’s when I found out, you were everything.” It was so short, he didn’t even say that he loves me not that I am expecting. But all the words he says sends me in turmoil, it’s cryptic, but I feel that sometime he meant what he just said. And when it’s my turn, I looked at the words that I wrote in the palm of my hand and everyone chuckled: “Matt Matt—” I goes on by calling him what I used to call him when we were young, and his eyes dilated “—I promise to surprise you, to amaze you, to make you laugh and mad, and to help you ate every endeavor. Dream with me, hold me and never let me go. And I will be your loving wife forevermore.” His expression didn’t change in one bit. “—I always dream to marry the boy I had knew all those years ago, and today I got to marry the man. This, my Darling, is the beginning of forever. Forever kisses, forever love, forever fight, forever together as one. Suddenly, there in you—” I pointed at him as my voice shakes emotionally “—was everything I would ever need. I may didn’t know it the first time we met, but I know it now. There’s no doubt in my heart that you are my person. I pledge to still love you even if your team losses this year.” Everyone chuckled, even him. And that made me smile. “—I thought today was the best of my life—” Everyone stopped and so he is. Nervous of what I will say next “—but the thought of spending the rest of my life with you, I know the best is yet to come.” I saw him smirk and everyone stood up and applaud. “You may now kiss your bride.” He slowly put up my veil and cupped my face gently and slowly lean on to my face and kissed me tenderly, passionately. Now, all else don't matter anymore. Both of us faced our crowd as all of them were smiling at us, clapping they’re hands and congratulating us. “You are now Mister and Misses Mayhem.” The father announced. But there’s someone who caught my eye outside the church. She’s wearing a black fancy dress. She’s not even trying to hide, I think she’s trying to get seen. And when she knew that she caught my attention, she removes her sunglass and put an evil smirk towards me. She’s back. Hannah’s back. And she chose to be back on the most perfect day of my life.
