CHAPTER 73

CORINNE

Today was the Madisson High football championship against the Riverdale High.

And I know this means so much to either Diesel and Blaze.

They work hard for this, although I know that Blaze didn’t want to pursue his career on NFL if ever, Die was a different story. He wanted to be drafted, he’s all about football, how I wish he was successful this time.

I am on the bleacher along with other student’s with Carina and Savannah, this is my first time watching a football match, because Blaze told me we need to make an appearance to the civil.

All I could ever hear is the soul crashing screams and cheers. And thank god I came, because I can feel the adrenaline rushing on my veins pumping on my heart even more when I see Blaze got out of the team’s cave. Everyone screams so loud, and I think I did the same. That is when I feel not just one but two pair of eyes watching me. I looked down on the bleacher to see it was Hannah, looking at me like I disgust her, I roll my eyes at her and scoffed, the audacity of this mistress to look down on someone’s wife, but not just someone her lover.

That is when I see the second pair of eyes watching me, it’s Blaze. He’s looking at me from down the field and have this smirk on his face like he just saw me looking down on his mistress.

I can’t help but roll my eyes at him too, irritation consumes me at that moment that my adrenaline suddenly vanished.

"I can't believe there's a girl like Hannah Evans." It was Savannah, looking at Hannah.

“Believe me, b***h. There’s a lot of that conniving woman out there, you just have to be careful with one.” Carina told her.

I chuckle “Unfortunately I have one on my back.”

"I still can't believe you accepted such a set-up, Corinne. You deserve better than that."

Yeah, we just told Savannah the truth behind our secret and our marriage. We quit getting her in the dark. She’s a trusted friend after all.

"And we just told you that this is the type of marriage that exists when the purpose is merger. I didn't say that everything happens like this, but often." Carina explained.

The championship starts, and actually I can’t even understand what is going on. All I can see Blaze and Diesel took over the game. And they won. Endless cheering could be heard on the inside and maybe on the outside either of the dome, including mine.

We were all jumping and screaming, like we are part of the team.

I didn’t saw Hannah on where she was sitting earlier, then I saw Blaze looking at me with proud and happiness in his eyes, he absolutely loves the field.

I smiled at him too, extending him my congratulations.

When the championship ceremony was done, we all walks out of the stadium and starts to walk towards the stadium wide parking lot, Savannah, Carina and I were still talking about the game when a tall and bulky, attractive man step in our way that made us stop. “Hi.”

He said, smiling straight at me.

“He—Hello?” I told him confusingly.

He handed me piece of sunflower “I have been looking at you from down the field the moment I entered the stadium. You caught my attention all through out.” He flashed me his smile, if I am not married, I find him to be more attractive, but I am.

Savannah and Carina were giggling beside me, enjoying the scene.

“I—I don’t think I can accept the flower, but you’re sweet.” I put my hands in front of my face, the one I had my wedding ring “—but I am married.”

“Oh, that’s—that’s too bad.” His smile didn’t even falter “—at least can I have your name, I’m Noah.” He offered his hand.

And I shake it, his hands were soft “Corinne.”

“That’s a very nice name.”

“Corinne!” a very familiar voice made me flinch on my hold with Noah’s hands, and when I see him looking at me, looking at Noah, and looking at our hands, I removed my hold instantly.

“Blaze?”

He strides towards me and wrapped his huge and long arms on my waist, claiming his territory. “What is this?”

Noah put his hands up in surrender “Didn’t know you are her husband, Cap.”

“Are you?” There’s a hint of venom in Blaze tune. “Now you know.”

He cupped my face suddenly and kissed me for everyone to see that made my eyes open wide.

When he’s done, he looks at Noah again “Oh you’re still there?”

Noah nods in defeat and looks at me “Nice meeting you, Corinne.” Then walks away from us.

“What’s that all about?” I pressed.

“Nothing.” He flashed me his teeth. “There’s going to be an after party. You all should come.”

“We will be there.” Carina smiled at him.
