Song for this Chapter:
When I look At You-Miley Cyrus
CHAPTER 39
CORINNE
I am once again back in that dark alley; the rain is still pouring hard and deepening on the pores of my skin. My hands and my clothes were bloodied, then I looked down, I see her, I see Gian lying on her back with thousands of wounds all over her body.
She suddenly moved and grabbed me on my feet “Help me.”
I jumped, she said so weak. My back was hit by a hard chest shove behind me, a very familiar hands flattened on my shoulder. “Look at her.” A voice, that voice was so familiar that taunts me for years. “You’re going to be look like her.”
I closed my eyes while I sob, “Please, don’t.”
“Then I will f*****g skin your Aunt Anne next so no one will ever look for you. You will end up just like her. Killed in these cold storms with no one else but me.”
“Pl—Please.” I sob.
He makes me look at him, he’s still wearing the black bandana I saw that night I see Gian dead. “Too bad, you’re my favorite.” Then a sharp edge knife hits the bare of my stomach and all I can see is the blood on my belly and his darkened eyes staring back at me.
I woke up. And was so thankful that it was only just a dream, and I immediately looked to see if I had a knife stab in my stomach, and when I see that there is a bandage wrapped on my waist and I am only wearing an unfamiliar white shirt that's too big for me, and when I looked around me the place was also unfamiliar with me with the curtains up while the rain is pouring outside my heart beat faster, panic course in me. In my veins and in my pulse.
“I am here.” Somehow a voice speaks on the dark side of the room. He leans in the light that came from the moon outside the window to see that it was Blaze Mayhem.
Blaze?
Then I remembered that I tried calling him and decide to run in here to get myself the help that I need in the moment.
I groan. “Blaze.”
“Yeah, it’s me.” he answered me so cold, who wouldn’t. I showed up here in his house unannounced and begging him to marry me, yeah, I remembered that I asked him to marry me after all that I’ve done to him.
“What happened to you?” He asked.
I can’t tell him exactly what happened to me, I know Marcus has so many accesses inside that hospital where My Mother, I meant Anne is. Before I can even ask Blaze to help me, Marcus already has the people inside that hospital. Marcus is pure evil, when I decide to take him down with me, he will drag me down with me. and right now, he knows Anne is my Achilles.
“Someone tries to take advantage of me on the way home to my studio,” I t wasn’t the best excuse because I know he or Diesel may find the culprit is. But I don’t know what to say anymore.
“And you can run away with that assault by asking me to marry you?” He leans his back on the rest of his couch, looking straight at me. Even though I can’t see it, I can literally feel it.
I mean his eyes, on me.
I sighed and massage my temple “Yeah, must’ve been so desperate—”
“Yes, you are.”
My looked snaps on him, I can’t even fight him off because I myself can hear the desperation in my voice.
I nod “Yeah,” I swallowed hard and just massage my temple, hoping that he would let this topic go.
“You do know that Hannah and I are dating, right?”
I looked at him, as tears is ready to sprung on my eyes. He was the last hope I can have for getting away in that hellhole and I missed it because I am so f*****g lovestruck to someone who doesn’t even have the balls to run away with me.
“I know,”
“And yet you desperately asked me to marry you even if you’re friends with Hannah?” He’s pressing, he pushing this.
“It’s because I need you—”
“Need me to what exactly?”
I hold his gaze as tears fell on my eyes. “Must’ve been a very crucial situation for you to beg something you didn’t gave me three weeks ago, the audacity, right?” He smirks.
I didn’t answer him, everything he was saying is the truth, and if I wanted him to help me, I needed to graced him his favor.
“I acted like a f*****g dog for you three weeks ago, Corinne Lewis. And here you are, on my bed. Purring like a f*****g cat.” He scoffed.
“I am desperate here, Blaze.” My voice shakes, I don’t even know where to go when he decides to kick me out of his house. I won’t get back in that place ever again, and have him kill me along with his crazy wife. “—I need help, and apparently you are the only one who can help me that much.”
He stood up, now, I see that he’s only wearing a robe, a gray robe. He walks towards his cabinet, a f*****g mini bar inside his own bedroom. He grabbed a rock glass and pour himself a scotch and drinks it, slowly.
“Tell me why? Why can’t Diesel help you? You know, your boyfriend.” Now, he decides to rub the salt on my wounds.
“He—He can’t.”
“Why though? You have to give me something.” he leans on his bed using his arms for support while his face is near mine.
I closed my eyes, I can’t. I can’t even tell him. “I can’t—”
“Then, I can’t do anything for you either. I want you gone tomorrow morning.” He was now heading on his door, “—I don’t want Hannah getting suspicious about this.” Then he closed the door when he leaves.
He may look at me like I am a stranger when I tell him the truth for what’s been happening to me.
He won’t look at me the same when he founds out.
And when he does, he will do something so reckless that will put Anne’s life in danger as it is.
I guess, I just have to find more ways to get out of there without marrying the Angry God.
But the question is; How?
