The Prophecy

211 Words
Some hundred years ago, the world received the news that an asteroid would hit the moon. The size of the asteroid is twice the size of the moon, with a damage range of seventy percent. Debris will rain down on land, with estimated land and sea damage of sixty percent. Living things' population will decrease down to merely ten percent, and an uncertain number of plants that can survive might not be enough to sustain oxygen. All these predictions will happen on the day of the full solar eclipse. Some hundred years ago, all these predictions happened precisely. But the United Nations salvaged what remained; plants, animals, infrastructure, and humans. Oceans dried up to reveal lands that connected the continents, and the remaining water parts turned into seas and lakes. Mountains were wiped out, replaced by rocks, towers of rocks. The Earth once again connected. Some hundred years had passed since then. One fateful day, two children were born on the night of the Lunar eclipse. One with the blessing of the moon and the other with the blessing of the sun. Legend says that when the son of the Sun and the daughter of the Moon meet at the end of the world, the world will once again be reborn.
