Three years can be a very long time in the life of anybody who has lost a loved one. Stanley had spent most of that time agonizingly trying to figure out what had gone wrong with his role as a father and husband to warrant losing Gina. Initially he had heaped all the blame on Jennifer but as time progressed he came to the unthinkable conclusion that harboring these bitter thoughts against his wife would serve no helpful purpose, in any case he had started to notice that their daughter Maria was becoming inquisitive about the changed family environment in the home.
