Within a very short time and with relentless determination he had changed the ignorant men and women of The Association of the Emancipated to something of a cult movement; closely knit with an unquestionable allegiance to him. They adored, feared and worshipped him. The majority were ever thankful to him for his philanthropy. His many companies offered job opportunities to the sons and daughters of the members. The National Bank and other major financial institutions belonging to him extended loans and grants to the members who needed them. No member could dispute the fact that the Boss’ numerous educational foundations had bailed them out at one time or other due to lack of fees.
