Maya didn’t sleep.
The ring box sat on the bedside table like a ticking bomb.
Every time she looked at it, she remembered Edward’s voice.

Beside her, William barely moved all night.

“I’m going out,” she whispered.
William looked exhausted as he slowly sat up.
“To him?”
