Another chuckled.
"Maybe she's lucky."
The older woman laughed coldly.
"Lucky? Women like her know exactly what they're doing."

Still, she remained silent.
She refused to give them the reaction they wanted.
Then came the final insult.
"My daughter spent years attending charity galas, business events, and even started working in his company hoping to catch Edward's attention."
The older woman sneered.
"And he ignored every respectable woman in the city for someone like her."
