“The princess of mystery is finally back!”
A jolt comes from Liv even though she has just entered. She hopes to tiptoe to her room to get some sleep to see what she can do the next day or even later, but her little “mom” had to stay there waiting for her. She doesn't have the mind to be reprimanded because she was scared of her life with this stranger to begin with. Aware that the latter will follow her everywhere until she has an answer, she tells herself that the best thing is to confront her once and for all.
“It went well”
“Not as I would have liked,” she said, huffing wearily.
“Didn’t your guy come?” She looks harshly at Aurora for her stupidity because even if it's a joke, she doesn't find it funny at all. It's true that she herself doesn't know why she went there, but to say that she hoped to see this alpha male who saved her would be false.
“To make a long story short, someone sick showed up and I swear I was on the verge of peeing on myself. I’m sure that day when the car almost hit me, if it had been him, he would have left me to die.”
Aurora looks at her sadly because she feels helpless. She promised herself to always help her friend, but the fact that she doesn't know what to do makes her sick.
“I expected you to come home better than that.”
" It doesn't matter. I’m going to go up to my room.”
Aurora watches her leave and jumps up when Liv's figure disappears. She walks around the living room looking for a solution. If only she could talk to the ghost of Liv's grandfather to tell her what's going on and what she can do to protect her best friend.
Liv sits on the edge of her bed, her thoughts wandering. She feels hot tears rolling down her cheeks and yet even like thatshe doesn't feel any better. When she thinks of this pain, she sees the image of this man who saved her and she wants to see him so much. This man hides a mystery that she so wants to unravel because the mere fact that he does not leave her thoughts is a situation to be resolved. She thinks she could return to this place more often, hoping to see it one of these days, but with the fright that the one she met gave her, she doesn't want to go there anymore.
It is time for her to sleep because even despite her pain, she must move forward.
Awakened by the rays of the sun, Liv flutters her eyes and when they open, her previous day begins to flash through her head as if it were a film she was watching and it enrages her. It really enrages him. She runs into the bathroom where after getting ready, she goes to get dressed and once ready, she leaves her room. She is about to leave when Aurora shows up.
“Hey, you're early this morning, to think you're going somewhere.”
This way of speaking doesn't please her at all because it's clear that she's about to leave.
“I am indeed going to go out and I warn you not to try to dissuade me because you will not succeed.”
" It's good !" Aurora said, raising her hands in surrender. “But so I don’t worry all day, can you tell me where you’re going?”
She'll try to stop him, that's for sure, but she'll do anything to do what she plans.
“I’m going to go back to this company…I…”
“Impossible! You can't go back because this man sent you away, my little one. Do you think he will take you back after your begging?"
She purses her lips and clenches her fists. She can't start begging this man and even if he wants to take her back, she won't go because she has her pride and knowing his abilities, she knows that she will not lack work.
“I'm going to go to other clubs after having spoken a few words to this man and you will see that from this evening, I will have a big job somewhere. Trust me, please.”
“Be careful, my little darling." She smiles and leaves.
She drives like crazy because nothing matters to her anymore. No work to drive her crazy, no life because her work is her drug and she would rather die of an overdose than die without taking it.
When she parks in front of the company, her anger makes her want to cause an unspeakable scandal, but she restrains herself. She is very civilized and does not want to be pitied.
When she arrives at this man's floor, she knocks on the door and when he asks her to come in, she does so as calmly as possible.
“Hello, Mr. I trust that you are doing well.”
His gesture shows her that he is surprised to see her and she likes nice surprises like that. She allows herself to sit down because he is not decided to offer this to her.
“I only want one thing, Mr. only one, and that is to know why fire me one morning like that without explanation.”
“I’m the boss and I don’t need to give you an explanation.”
Liv looks at him and slowly, a smile appears on her lips. There is nothing happy about this smile, but she feels pity for this man.
“You’re not even convinced of what you’re telling me, M., but that’s okay. You can't even assume, so I think I'm just wasting my time. Farewell, dear one!”
She gets up without looking at him and goes towards the door. When she opens it, the voice of this man catches her.
“I know I disgust you now, but I had no choice and even if I hadn't, it was going to happen another way and I would like you to take my dismissal as a chance to move away from here and start a new life and if possible, under another identity.”
She turns around and the man she sees now is not her former boss, but her grandfather. She shakes her head and when she comes back to herself, she realizes that it's still her boss who is sitting.
“I think he owns you and you need release,” she blurted before leaving.
When she arrives outside, she takes a deep breath and tells herself that this stupidity from her grandfather or her former boss should stop. She pulls out the list of companies she made and starts going there.
After half a day, she realizes that bad luck has really fallen on her. They all recognize her skills and yet no one wants her and worse yet, they are not even convinced of their refusal. Something is wrong and maybe it's up to her to get relief as she suggested to her former boss. In less than two days, she's about to go insane, that's for sure. What if someone had blocked her so that nothing worked for her? It's crazy to think like that...
