Arthur heard the rumbling of laughter fill the air. Were they making fun of him or what. He groaned and that seemed to get his friends to stop laughing. "Seriously guy are you really not coming to the party I mean everybody is waiting for you. You know you're the life of the party". Different voices kept talking. "Peer pressure", Arthur groaned. "Okay, okay I'm coming". He dropped the call. He climbed his window and jumped down. Then he drove out of his house to the party. Arthur drove into the party. The music sounded so loud he held his ears. Tyson. Always so loud, he mumbled and walked in. "Yo man we thought you were never coming". Drake one of his friend said and gave him a drink. " What's with the yo anyway. Well I'm here now aren't I". Arthur replied and walked further into the room to meet his group of friends. ************** Carolyn came out of her car. And went straight into the night club. She didn't need to pass through security cause they already knew who her father was. So she passed through them without being told to wait in line. She drank to stupor and finally decide to dance. "Hey beauty what you doing here alone". A guy said and dragged her towards him. "Let me go. I aren't interested". "Hey, I just wanna dance with you. No hard feelings". The guy shouted through the loud music and held her from moving away. "I said let me go you i***t. I'm not interested". " Just dance with me, then later we can go upstairs don't you think". Carolyn hissed repeatedly. She was feeling dizzy from all the drink she had. "Let". Hiccup, "me", hiccup, "go". Hiccup. "Okay sure, but after we've went upstairs". "No" , hiccup, "let go. You scoundrel let me go". The boy ignored her and dragged her towards the stairs. "Is there a problem". A voice boomed making the guy stop walking. The guy gasped. "Gareth. Oh man I'm sorry I didn't know she was with you". The guy backed off and ran. Nobody messes with the boxer. Gareth sighed and held Carolyn from falling as the guy ran. He'd seen her struggling with him from afar and decided to intervene. He couldn't just let his friend's enemy get used and dumped. Carolyn pushed him away. "Leave me you. I still want to dance". She tried moving away from him but he held her back. "What the hell Carolyn. Why did you come here alone". He saw the look in her eyes turn pale. All trace of being drunk disappeared. "I'm alone Gareth. I have no one with me. Do you think I want to be alone. My father hates me. I have no friends". "Well if you tried being nicer maybe you'll have friends". Gareth put in but immediately regretted it as he got a scowl from Carolyn. "Nobody wants to have a friend who's father gives her anything she wants apart from love. They'll think I'm just a spoilt brat. My father doesn't want me. I think I'm a burden to him". She sobbed. "Ok that's enough, let's get you home". Gareth muttered and carried her. "No I don't want to go home. Nobody is there. I'll be alone". "Where should I take you to, my house?". Garth asked. "Yes I'll prefer that. At least someone would be with me". Gareth smiled. The Carolyn he knew wouldn't be saying this if she was in her right senses. The liquor really did a number on her. "Ok if you say so. But don't blame me when you wake up tomorrow and find yourself in my room". Gareth said but he only heard her snore in return. She was already asleep. ******************* Arthur sat with his friends as they talked about stuff and drank liquor. Arthur looked around the room. He was about to turn back to his Friends when he saw a shadow. he looked around the place but no one was in the vicinity so who made the shadow. He stared at the shadow for seconds before it disintegrated. That was weird. He suddenly had a very bad feeling then decided it was time to go home. "I'll see you in school guys I need to head home now. I didn't tell my mum I was coming". "Mummy's boy". they teased him and Arthur frowned "I've told you guys to stop calling me that". He walked to the door and twisted the knob. He pushed and pulled but the door seemed to be locked. Why would Tyson lock them in. He went back to meet his friends. "Hey Tyson. Why did you lock the door. Come open up for me I'm leaving". "The door is opened Arthur it's not locked. Go try to open it again". Arthur sighed and went back to the door. "Oh common" he mumbled as the door was still locked. He groaned in frustration. He would have to convince Tyson to stand up and check the door. The damn door is locked. He gasped as he saw the shadows again. This time they were three. "You should have listened to your mother Arthur Truman. Now you're locked in with us. Join us now or perish". He thought he was dreaming but did the shadows just talk. He ran back to his friends. "did you guys see that". "See what" they all asked together. "Did you see the weird talking shadows on the wall". He pointed at the shadows. They all looked in the direction and saw nothing. "Are you sure you haven't drank to much that you are starting to see things". Drake asked in a teasing voice. "It's right there" he pointed again. "Can't you guys see it. I'm looking at it right now". "It's floating around the room". All his friends looked again but saw nothing. "There's nothing there Arthur, maybe you need some sleep". Arthur groaned in frustration. Was he the only one seeing things.
