THE TALISMANS

Robert sneaked himself into the room and tried to conjure up his father.

He brought out his talisman that had the drawing of rocks.

He held it with his hands and brought it close to his heart.

"I want to talk to father" he whispered and the talisman glowed. But then it stopped and Robert turned confused. And immediately it stopped the door opened revealing Gareth.

"Oh my God". Robert shouted and left the talisman to dangle on his chest.

Gareth stared at him wide-eyed.

"That light. That blinding light. That radiant light I saw from the door. You did it. You made it glow". Gareth looked around the room to find the source of the light but he found nothing that could create that kind of light.

Robert looked at Gareth in fear. He just got caught. Oh praise to the gods the talisman stopped itself before he could open the door. But the boy already saw what he saw now the problem was confusing him He saw wrong. But he didn't know how to. The boy seemed sure of what he saw seconds ago.

Gareth had been by the door and almost stretched his hand to open it but something stopped him. A light glowed slowly then it glowed in full power after he couldn't take the temptation of wanting to find out where the light came from he stretched his hand and turned the knob. And then when he was about to open it. The light stopped faster than it came and he only saw the new kid who had made Christine ignore him all true the day looking scared and afraid he got caught.

"That blinding light, that radiant light I saw from the door. You did it. You made it glow". Said Gareth as he looked around for the source of the light.

"I.....I...di.....did not d...do anything". Robert stammered in fear. The guy looked so big he felt like a ball was stuck in his throat.

"Uh" Gareth asked intimidating Robert the more.

"You did not do what. That door never glowed, how come it was when you entered it glowed. You did something. Now talk. I knew you were weird the first time I saw you. And I have every right to know what you were doing here after all you made Christine ignore me through out the day."

Robert stared at him wide-eyed. So that was it. That was the reason this big boy was trying to be so angry at him. He loved Christine, he really loved Christine. And suddenly Robert turned guilty. The boy obviously thought he was trying to get Christine. What a jealous freak. If he really liked Christine why didn't he approach her like a normal human being instead of chasing guys who he thinks might like Christine. Guys. We're weird creatures.

The more he thought about it. The more he remembered what Arthur was saying to Christine that made her Moody. Christine must also like this guy also. So he must be the Gareth they were talking about.

Gareth stared at the weird kid who kept changing looks as he thought about something. Was the guy seriously using his precious time to think. What a sucker. Gareth frowned in confusion as Robert suddenly smiled.

Why was the i***t smiling. Was he laughing at him. Robert stopped laughing and looked at Gareth straight in the eye.

"I know you do not like me because you felt like I am taking all the attention away from you. And by that I mean. You don't like me because ever since I got here. Christine and I have been together and you feel replaced".

Gareth eyes widened the weird kid was not as foolish as he thought. He desperately wanted to smash him to pieces but what do you know. The guy had some brain and a lot of gut.

"Why do you think I like Christine". Gareth asked scrutinizing the weird kid who shrugged in return.

"There nothing there to think about I mean she likes you to". Robert said and waited for Gareth expression.

"she likes me" Gareth eyes lit up in surprise and humour. "She likes me. She really likes me". Gareth suddenly stopped recovering himself. He must have looked like an i***t in love in front of the guy. "Cough, cough, cough." He scratched he's head awkwardly.

"So how do you know". He asked.

"How do I know what". Robert asked in a teasing voice making Gareth scowl at him.

"How do you know she likes me God damnit". Gareth snapped and Robert flinched.

"Well when she was talking with Arthur he mentioned something about you not thinking of her but instead enjoying a girls company and Christine got really upset. She turned Moody. I can still imagine the look of betrayal on her face when Arthur told her. it looked like she wanted you back with her but she didn't know how to".

He never knew Christine was watching him talk with Carolyn. Does that mean she was jealous. He really hoped he was right. But most of all this weird guy should better hope he was telling the truth.

"All right sucker I have heard you. Now where where were we on the issue of the surprise bright light." Gareth asked and Robert face fell. He thought he succeeded in diverting his attention but the big guy was not stupid. He still remembered what he had saw now how was he going to explain. He couldn't just tell him that. Hey curious big guy dude. I'm the earth talisman and I have the power to control rocks and everything within it. And I can also do magic. And other stuff. How great am I. No he could not tell him that. The big guy dude would literally think he was stupid or going crazy. What a weird situation to be in. Gareth stared at Robert waiting for an answer.
