Chapter eighteen Christine sighed as they got to school. "Okay Carolyn do what you got to do. But just don't get us into any more trouble". Said Arthur. Carolyn scoffed. "You guys relax. It's not like we did it in purpose anyway. And besides one of us has to have a power that can erase people's memories". She looked at Christine. "Well you should be the one. Besides I heard water holds memories so you should be able to erase them also". Christine's eyes turned mischievous. "You really think I can do that?". Carolyn scoffed. "Of course not that's why you need my help. Now stop complaining and let's get to school". Arthur held back a chuckle when he saw Christine's frowning face. " You better hope your father helps us out Carolyn or you are not going to see the end of me*. Christine snapped in anger and Arthur finally laughed. When they got into school they were surprised to see the whole place empty well apart from two cars. Arthur's car and Gareth's car. Gareth was leaning on his own car. He looked up when he saw them approach. "Well it's looks like we won't be needing your dad's help after all". Arthur laughed and went into his car. Christine sighed. "I'm sorry. I acted inconsiderate in the morning. I should have listened to you". Gareth smiled. "I'm also sorry for shouting at you". "Cough, cough, cough. Since we are doing a family reunion I'll be going with Arthur". Carolyn opened Arthur's car and Arthur gasped in surprise. "Get out of my car". Carolyn rolled her eyes. "I am in already, drive". Arthur scoffed and turned on the gear. "You owe me one". Gareth and Christine walked into the car and he also drive off. "So you mind telling me what went in between All of you. I'm getting impatient". Christine laughed as Gareth parked the car in front of his house. She was not going home now. She needed to spend time with her friend. She pushed the door open and went out. Gareth also did the same. Together they walked into the house. Gareth poured a cup of juice for them both and they sat on the sofa. "Tell me now, Christine. I'm dying of suspense". "Okay, okay. So get this*. Christine explained every single detail to him without missing any part. Gareth's eyes would go wide in some places and in some places be actually looked scared. In some places he would look surprised. Christine narrated everything and gulped her juice as she finished. "So you mean to tell me this all happened in a day and now you know the reasons you've been having those weird dreams"?. Gareth asked. Christine nodded. "Wow you know I've always thought your grandma to be someone extra ordinary but I never thought it that way. No wonder she was always speaking in parables and acting weird. No offense but sometimes you grandma sounds and looks creepy." Christine slapped his arm. "My grandma is not creep. She just knows stuff". "Yeah a lot of stuff". Gareth added and Christine smiled. Gareth's smile vanished. "Why didn't you go with him. You would have been a lot of help". "Well duh, I didn't want to leave anyone behind and go on a risky mission just because someone says it's part of my destiny. Who seeks a destiny that would end up in death". Christine said. Gareth sighed. "It's your choice. So you make it". Christine suddenly smiled mischievously. "You know if someone told me you were a coward I would have doubted it". Gareth frowned. "I'm not a coward". "Yes you are". Christine replied. "I'm not a coward". Gareth repeated. "Then prove it". Christine said and leaned so close to Gareth their nose were touching. Gareth inhaled deeply as he got the message. "I'm not a coward" he whispered and kissed her. They broke the kiss and Christine turned her head away. She just kissed a guy. And not an ordinary guy. Her friend. Best friend. "That was awkward". Gareth thought and stared at Christine as she moved her eyes everywhere but his. Was she shy. Christine was shy. Well there's a first time for everything. He couldn't believe he just kissed her. Like kissed her. " I better get going". Christine said and stood up. Gareth sighed. "I'll drive you home". "No". Christine said to quickly out if fear and she immediately took her face down. "I mean, don't you have a fight to be in right now and besides I'm going to the library before going home". Gareth nodded even though he didn't think he was going to fight today. His body still felt sour. "Yeah water goddess. Let me see you off". Christine smiled. "I'm starting to think I shouldn't have told you about it". Gareth chuckled. You already did and you can't take it back". "Who says I can't, I'm water remember and water holds memories. I could wipe out your brain with just a flick of my fingers". Gareth's eyes widened. "You could really do that". Christine smiled and suddenly frowned. Carolyn had used the joke on her and know she was using it on Gareth. "No I can't". she replied anyway and it was now Gareth's turn to frown. He felt relived that she couldn't wipe out his memory of the kiss. His mind had wondered if into knowing Christine could take that precious memory away from him. Christine sighed as she felt compelled to kiss him again. That kiss had been to brief for her. When they reached the road Gareth stopped. Christine immediately tilted her head and kissed him deeply. Gareth was shocked but soon melted into the kiss. Christine broke the kiss and looked down. "I should better be going". Before she could turn Gareth grabbed her hand and leaned into another kiss. Christine sighed into the kiss feeling light headed. Gareth pulled away. "Just know you belong to me now". Christine smiled still blushing. "Yes sire". She moved away from him. Christine waved her hands as she walked away and into the road. Gareth watched her to until she was out of sight.
