Chapter 9

Trying to change the subject completely, Ken looked at Kyle and asked, "How is the Border looking?" "Not too bad, it's still strong. There hasn't been much activity since I got there, '' Kyle replied. Kyle was sent to the border for a few months during the summer to help him prepare to be the next Beta. Since Kyle's wolf would manifest on his next birthday, he had to make sure to be ready. As soon as he turns 18, he will officially become a Beta. Kyle and Eric were both excited about their next birthday, so they could finally start training in wolf form. "Has your wolf manifested yet Ken? '' Eric asked. Ken hesitated to answer, because he was ashamed of his form. After looking at the ground for a minute, he finally met Eric's eyes and nodded while firmly saying "yes" during Ken's hesitation, both Kyle and Eric were looking at Ken realizing he wasn't wearing a shirt. "What happened to your shoulder?? I don't remember you ever getting hurt." Eric pointed and asked.

Ken, realizing he had taken off his shirt to give to Eli, quickly grabbed Kyle's shirt that she left on the bed and put it on. "Sorry you had to see that." Ken stammered, embarrassed. Kyle looked at Ken confused. "What exactly are you apologizing for? There's nothing wrong with you. Hell, if I was a girl I'd probably fall in love with you." Kyle said, chuckling. Ken averted his eyes, looking to the side. " The scar is from when I was born…" Ken trailed off. "That's a pretty huge scar to be from when you were born, '' Eric replied suspiciously.

After talking for a bit, Ken and Eric went to the door to leave. As they walked out they noticed Eliza sitting against the wall still in Ken's shirt with her legs pulled up and her arms hugging them. Kyle noticed Ken and Eric stopped so he walked over to see what was going on. All three men were just looking at Eliza confused, until she finally noticed them. "Oh, I didn't want to go home and be alone. I just didn't know where to go. Sorry I'll leave" Eliza said standing up to leave. Kyle reached out and grabbed Eliza to stop her. "You can come in for a while," Kyle offered. Eliza nodded her head and agreed. "Thank you, my parents went to go check the border this morning so they will be gone for a week." Eliza said sadly. Kyle shoved Ken and Eric out, took Eliza in and closed the door.

"Do you think I can stay the night? I don't like being home alone," Eliza asked. "Of course, you can take the bed, I'll sleep on the floor. Kyle suggested. Eliza just made a pouting face at him. "Want me to come with you to go get some of your stuff? Eliza hesitated a bit but then finally took his hand as she nodded for them to go get some of her stuff. "You can stay as long as you want, so just pack as much as you want." Kyle stated. Eliza grabbed a few changes of clothes, her pillow and her blanket. She couldn't sleep without them. It was hard enough trying to fall asleep since she lost her teddy bear.

After she finished packing, Kyle took her bags and held her hand, walking back to his room. "You can tell me anything, and I'll be there for you, you don't have to pressure yourself, I just want you to know I'm always on your side." Kyle said, trying to fill the silence. They entered Kyle's room and found a place to set her bags. "You should probably shower first," Kyle suggested. "Okay, fine. But no peeking", Eliza replied, giggling. After Eliza finished her shower, Kyle took his. When Kyle came out of the bathroom, he walked over to Eliza to help dry her hair, making her feel like a princess. After drying her hair, Kyle proceeded to take her brush and brush her hair. As Eliza turned to look at Kyle to tell him he didn't have to, she stopped before she could say anything. Kyle was only wearing a towel, and it was quite low and she could see his perfectly sculpted figure. "Why do men always put their towels so low?" Eliza asked, not able to look away. " Why do you make a habit of seeing men in towels?" Kyle chuckled teasingly. "Humphh" Eliza started pouting at his response.

Kyle grabbed some blankets and pillows to place on the floor to sleep. Eliza stopped him as he grabbed his pillow. "I think this bed is plenty big enough for 2 people. " Eliza said Shyly. Kyle just looked at her trying to think of how to turn her down when she then explained she really didn't want to be alone and wanted someone beside her. Kyle, defeated, agrees to sleep in the same bed. Kyle laid on his side facing Eliza with his arm outstretched across the bed. Eliza cuddled up to Kyle with her head on his arm facing his muscular chest. Kyle wrapped his arms around her and gave her a good night kiss on her forehead. Eliza smiled and instantly fell asleep.

When Kyle woke up, he noticed his arms were empty and Eliza was gone. He quickly jumped up and searched the room. Eliza walked in and looked at Kyle. "Did you lose something? Need help looking for it?" Kyle jumped and turned around. " Nope, I just found what I lost," Kyle said as he walked towards her. " Oh, I went for a run. Can't skip out on training. " She said, smiling. As they were going out to breakfast, they ran into Eric, who joined them. While Eliza was at the Cafe eating with Kyle and Eric she felt someone staring daggers at her. Looking around, Eliza suddenly met Ken's angry, jealous eyes glaring at her.

Seeing that Ken was jealous even though he was with Alice gave her an idea. She got up and went over to Eric and sat on his lap whispering in his ear. "Ken is giving some pretty nasty looks over here, can you play along?". Eric smiled and nodded his head in response. Kyle looked at Eric very frustrated and confused. Eric laughed and mouthed the words "Look at Ken". Eliza placed her hand on Eric's cheeks and put her forehead to his, slowly moving closer.

Suddenly, there was a loud BANG and everyone looked over. Ken had become so enraged that he completely flipped the table, grabbed Alice's hand and stormed out. Seeing the scene, Ken just made all three of them sit there laughing. "I think you owe me a real kiss now for being such a good boy." Eric whispered to Eliza. After taking a moment to think about it, she leaned in and kissed Eric on the cheek. Laughing at them, she got up and went over to give Kyle a kiss on his cheek for being a good boy too.

After paying the bill, they all three left and went for a walk to the lake. Once the lake was in view Eliza ran over to it and started jumping and dancing around in the shallow part like a little girl. Kyle and Eric just watched her laughing until she started to splash at them. "Oh you're going to get it now" Kyle said, rushing towards Eliza and picking her up over his shoulder. Eliza was kicking and Kyle lost his balance, which caused Eric to try to run over to catch her. All three wound up falling into the water with Eliza on top of them. "You guys got me all wet!" Eliza pouted. "You started it", Kyle and Eric said in unison while trying to tickle her.
