Chapter 12

Ken spent about 30 more minutes chatting with Eric, after both Eliza and Kyle went out. Ken couldn't take his eyes off of her. Eliza was lying on Kyle's bare chest in bed reading a book. Ken's heart sank. "Be strong, only a few more years…" Rex reminded him. "We should get going soon so we don't look at this anymore. I'm losing my confidence ", Jack added.

"Why would she be so traumatized, am I that ugly? Or maybe that bad at kissing, as it was my first… '' Ken asked Eric as they stepped out of the room. " Dude, you have a girlfriend. You are bringing Eliza into you by cheating on Alice. Eliza is not that kind of woman. You need to let her go. You made your choice." Eric reminded him. As Ken walked off, Eric went back into the room. Eric headed towards the bed, getting on the other side of Eliza to lay down. "Is it okay if I take my shirt off little bunny? I'm not used to wearing clothes in bed." Eric asked Eliza. She softly nodded as she nuzzled into Kyle's chest and fell back asleep.

"She goes out quickly, doesn't she?" Eric asked Kyle. " These past few days have been extremely stressful and exhausting for her, so I'm not surprised. Kyle replied as he turned off the light and scooted carefully to lay down. Both leaned in at the same time to give Eliza a kiss on the head. Kyle laid down with his arm around Eliza's shoulder, while Eric had his arms around her waist. Eliza was squirming around roughly in her sleep, disturbing both Kyle and Eric. Both men jumped up at the loud shrieking of Eliza's scream. Kyle grabbed Eliza, who was still asleep and set her on his lap, trying to wake her up. Eliza continued to thrash around in Kyle's arms screaming in her sleep when Ken came busting into the room.

"Quick, give her here" Rex said in a hurried tone, reaching for Eliza. " Wait, you smell like Ken but what's with your voice?? Kyle asked skeptically. "Give her here now." Jack demanded in his Alpha voice, his eyes glowing blue. Kyle, not able to disobey his Alph, handed him Eliza. As soon as Eliza was in his hands, Rex placed his forehead on hers and used his powers to finally wake her. As the lights were finally turned on, Eliza looked up to realize she was in Ken's embrace.

Shocked, she shoved him as hard as she could, flinging herself back. As Ken fell to the floor, Eric caught Eliza. "Eliza, please stay still if you're injured. Rex stated in a calming tone. Eric realized she was dripping a lot of blood on him as he held her. Kyle noticed and started to get scared. "Kitten, you are seriously injured, you need to let Ken carry you to the doctor. He is the fastest. " Kyle said, trying to stay calm. Eliza trusted Kyle and tried to reach out for Ken to take her, only to feel herself fall limp as she lost consciousness.

As Ken ran Eliza to the pack hospital, Kyle called her parents to let them know what happened. Worried, Damien and June wanted to leave and head home, but they were at the border and couldn't leave. Kyle assured them both that everything was going to be fine and Eric was calling Alpha John at the same time. After finishing their calls, both Kyle and Eric ran to the hospital. Ken was pacing back and forth in the lobby when Kyle and Eric entered. "What happened??" Ken asked. "Where is she??" Kyle asked, ignoring Ken's question. Ken pointed to the illuminated sign that read "Surgery". As Kyle was about to start explaining what he understood had happened, Alpha John and Mary ran into the lobby to meet them. Noticing them, Kyle took a deep breath and explained what he understood from his perspective, then Eric explained what he understood so they could try to get a complete story.

" So, what you are saying is Eliza was sleeping soundly when she started thrashing around then screaming, unable to wake up?" Rex asked. "Which reminds me, how did you wake her up??" Eric asked in a suspicious tone. Ken just looked at them with his lips tight, he couldn't answer them. "So it begins…" John muttered under his breath. Frustrated, Ken lashes out at Kyle and Eric for not being able to protect her. Mary grabbed Ken and reminded him there was nothing anyone could have done in that situation.

After 4 hours of silence, the doctor finally came out with a grim look on his face. "We ran out of blood for her, we are currently trying to procure more, but hers is special. " The Doctor explained. Ken, who had continued pacing, dropped to his knees defeated. "Outside of her parents there is only one pack member with her blood type. " The Doctor continued. "Who?" Alpa John asked quickly. "Her name is Alice, " the doctor answered. John's eyes showed only despair as he too fell to his knees to meet his son. "Isn't that a good thing? Isn't she your girlfriend?" Eric asked hopefully. "Alice is most likely the one who did this to Eliza…" Mary spoke in a grave tone.

The door burst open and a nurse ran out. "Doctor! Doctor! " The nurse shouted with hope in her eyes. " I was checking through the pack transfers, and a family that just moved in today has a son, with the same blood." The nurse stated. "Who? " Ken asked hopefully. "Devon, Devon connors from the blue lake pack." The nurse read off. "Why did they transfer?" John asked. "Looks like the eldest daughter found her mate here so the whole family relocated." Mary says reading their file off her phone. John and Ken left together to get to the Connors home to ask for assistance.

There was a loud bang at the front door. Startled awake, Devon looked over at the time. "Who at 1:00 in the morning…" Devon muttered as he headed to the door, since the knocking wouldn't stop. "Hi, I am Alpha john, and this is my son, future Alpha Ken" John introduced themselves. "What could be so important it couldn't wait till the sun came up?" Devon asked, aggravated. "One of our Pack members, my Beta's daughter is in critical condition at the hospital, both of her parents are out at the Border. According to the hospital, Devon Connors is the only matching blood." Devon holds up his hand to his forehead "So you came here at 1:00 in the morning, banging on someone's door to ask for a favor?" Devon tries to recap. "Please, help, she won't make it without the blood to finish the surgery. " Ken pleaded.
