Grandma's words echo in my mind long after I leave the hospital.
"If you find happiness, embrace it."
It's like she knows.
It's like she can see right through me, even without me telling her about Orion. Then again, Grandma has always had this surprising ability to read me like an open book.
The drive home is quiet, the setting sun painting the sky in shades of orange.
For the first time in months, everything feels like it's falling into place.
My grandmother is recovering. It's slow but it's still progress.
My bakery is ready to be opened and I have Orion. He is not exactly my boyfriend but he qualifies as a friend. Talia looks happy…it's everything I need now.
When I walk into the apartment, Talia is curled up on the couch, still in yesterday's clothes.
