“She has an obligation to this Council to bring the prophecy to fruition!” The members spoke loud over each other and out of turn. Each glaring down the crescent shaped table at each other. Thirteen members each representing their own coven, pack and nest. Our world had never been friendly of each other even whilst living in a world apart from the mundane. Our natures seem to clash at each turn. “She has no choice. She is the only one who can lead us into the time of peace. Our packs are being ravaged by rouges from all sides, we will soon fail, and the covens will be the next target. She has to accept the bite, whether it be of her own will or by force, it has been foretold that the child of three bloods will make safe the night.” A young woman near the windows ranted. Her sisters nodded in agreement.
“You have failed in your task to bring her in, then you found and failed to report her location. What exactly can you do Mutt!”
“I followed orders! I found her, it was not my fault that a rogue attacked her. Tell me what should I have done? You forbade kidnapping, you forbade telling her the truth. Orders were to observe and report. If I failed it was as her brother and not as a member of this Council. Lilith you have no room to speak as your people have already failed in her protection.”
“How dare…”
“ENOUGH!!!!! Stop acting like spoiled children. The past is in the past. Our future is nigh is the close present. Lilith the witches did what they could. Ezra you have done all that we have asked. You gave her to us for protection. But now you must bring her here, before her magic fully awakens.”
“That might be harder to do than you’d imagine.” A voice from the back of the room spoke up. Into the light Noah stepped up to stand by Ezra. His dark hair no longer brushing against his ears. His features slightly harder. Physical he looked drained of energy. Hushed murmurs from each member as expressions of shock cover their faces.
“Shortly after Tori woke up and her wolf was strong enough to emerge, she and her familiar took off.” Small gasps escape from the sisters. “You should be so proud Lilith, she takes after her mother even without her magic. She has been evading us for the better part of 3 weeks. Using whatever magic, he possesses Finn has been cloaking their locations. Occasionally we have found their telepathic location, but they are moving quickly.” His voice was short and distant. Not being able to find her was taking its toll on him. Trying to reach out and reach her mind was proving to be wasteful. She had closed herself of to him. His wolf whimpered in his head. Sleep deprivation and worry plagued him. Ezra looked no better they had been tracking them for weeks. Every time they thought they were close you would vanish into what seemed like thin air.
“You seem to think we are enjoying this, I literally feel like I am dying. My mate is missing, I have not been able to feel her in almost a month. I understand that we need her to bring the age of piece, but I did not stop looking for her to come here and listen to you berate her brother. I came here because for the first time I have no option but to but my faith in a Council that I do not trust. So. If you are done, we need to gather trackers.” His voice echoed in the silence. Many of the members simply nodded their heads in agreement. A few motioned to the creatures huddled next to the window in the moonlight. The first of many long nights begun and the first of many meetings where Noah and Ezra would be on the same side.
