I check my arm and the red outline is gone. "He actually shut it off."
"This is my time with you baby. He's not going to overuse it. He only wants to hear your voice too. He needs to know you're ok. It makes him feel good that you're happy."
"You too?"
"Yes."
"What if I'm not happy?"
"Then we'll try our best to fix it."
I cuddle into his side. "Can we sleep some more? I'm still kind of sleepy. I think I only woke up to pee."
"Yes, I do love holding you while you sleep, baby."
We sleep for another hour then we wake up and eat. We take over driving and the scenery is completely different now. It's so much flatter. After a few more hours, I see water. I love the water.
We get closer and I stop. I run into the sand and put my toes in it. I remember the last time I put my toes in the
