Megan subconsciously stood up from Sherlyn's side, rubbed her hands and said to Ivan uneasily, "I saw Mr. Carter, so I was afraid to go down and disturb you guys. I just heard Sherlyn's voice, so I thought I'd come over and play with her for a while."
Megan looked so pathetic that Ivan couldn't bear to say anything else.
"Daddy!" Sherlyn happily said to Ivan, "Auntie can build a nice tall castle. Daddy, you can build blocks together too."
Looking at Sherlyn's eager gaze, Ivan sat down next to her.
So is Ivan not going to kick me out right away? Is he playing with us?
Megan looked uncertainly at Ivan until he looked up at her and said, "What's the matter? Are you going to stand around like that?"
"Oh!" Megan responded, sat down and built blocks with them.
