10 Hand over the stamp!

990 Words
Ivan couldn't remember how many times his wife had performed needle treatment on him. It only got more and more painful. He didn't know if his eyes could be healed in the end, but he let Megan try it anyway. Cody constantly sneaked into the mansion, reporting to him the current state of the family business. "Sir, Jason started to work with the Adams recently. He knows the grudge between the two families. I don't know what he is trying to do…" "He just took over the family business. He needed every support he could find," Ivan sounded calm as he analyzed, "He can do whatever he likes. I don't even care." "Oh… Jason is also planning to renovate your grandfather's house. He's been recruiting house designers lately…" Ivan let out a cold laugh, "He will do anything to find that stamp… Pathetic." Cody found that Ivan looked more energic than before. He even was not that pale as before… "Sir, you look way better and healthier now. Mrs. Hendrix did a great job…" "Did you see Stacy downstairs? How is that cut on her hand now?" "You mean that cut on her left hand? Oh, it's getting better. It has a scab over it now…" "Her left hand?" Ivan mumbled to himself, frowning. Cody looked a bit confused, "Yes… The cut is on Mrs. Hendrix's left hand. What's the problem, sir?" "Nothing…" Ivan shook his head slowly, "I probably remembered it wrong." "Oh… Okay. By the way, Sir, I brought some meds and supplements for you. Please get well soon, so we can bash those bastards together.'' ''I would be glad to,'' Ivan smiled, ''Thanks for having my back, pal.'' … Megan only started the treatment when Cody had left. She was inserting the needles the moment she heard noisy footsteps from downstairs. They'd got visitors. Megan pulled the needles out and hid them up along with her medical kits before covering Ivan was a blanket. The door was kicked open the next minute. A couple of bulky bodyguards walked in. Megan knew these guys were working for Jason at the first glance. ''What do you want?'' Ivan asked with a cold voice. None of those guards said anything as they started to search the whole room, throwing and destroying like a bunch of beasts. One of them even pulled away Ivan's blanket and searched the bed. Megan stretched her arms and blocked Ivan away from those savages, but Ivan pull her back from behind and pressed her back against his chest, comforting her against her ear, ''Don't be scared, love. They're just searching for the stamp. They won't hurt me.'' Whatever they were trying to find, they found nothing in the end. One of the guards called Jason, sounding defeated, ''Sir, we looked everywhere, but we couldn't find it…'' The other bodyguard tried to threaten Ivan but flinched at the cold stare Ivan gave him. All of them walked out of the room in the end, leaving a mess behind. Megan wanted to clean the room up, but Ivan stopped her from doing so. ''May! Lee!'' Ivan shouted at downstairs. May and Lee only showed up after a while. ''What's wrong?'' Mrs. Lee asked impatiently. ''What's wrong?'' Ivan huffed coldly, ''Is this a joke or are you actually as blind as me? The whole room is a mess. Are you two gonna let the hostess of the house clean it up while you two just stand by with folded arms?'' Lee wanted to argue. But when Ivan started to give them orders, they just couldn't help but obey him. Even this man was blind, he could still be intimidating if he wanted to. "Hey," May spoke to him with a low voice as they both crouched down on the floor to pick things up, "Do you think Mr. Hendrix actually can see?" "Impossible!" Mr. Lee arched an eyebrow. "But why do I have a feeling that he can always see us?" Mr. Lee lifted his gaze carefully, only to meet Ivan's icy blue eyes. He looked away instantly. To be honest, he didn't even know. Megan had been giving him treatment. Maybe one day he would see again. Mr. Lee thought for a while and whispered at May, "Just do whatever he says. What if he is really cured and gains back his power one day…" If one day Ivan could see again, Lee didn't want to be one of his enemies. Ivan knew these two tended to bully the weak and fear the strong. If he didn't keep them in line right now, the days he and Stacy would face were gonna be long and hard. The man turned around, groping for his cane because he wanted to go to the balcony and have some fresh air. But a blaze of white light suddenly shone across his eyes. Ivan was started by the light first, and then he was frozen to the spot, realizing surprisingly that it was the sunlight. The vision before his eyes was still a blur, but it was not darkness anymore. He could see shadows of people… Did the treatment finally work?! A big smile broke Ivan's face, but his tone was calm and composed as he said to Megan, "Honey, would you mind walking me out to the garden?" Grabbing Ivan's arm, Megan led her husband out of the mess to the garden. She could feel his hand was trembling. She thought Ivan was still mad at May and Lee, but when she looked up at Ivan's eyes, Ivan's wide hand suddenly pressed against her cheek, "Stacy, I can see a little now. Today is a sunny day, isn't it?" Megan's heart started to pound violently. She thought the treatment wouldn't work because it had been 7 days but the condition of Ivan's eyes didn't even change… Finally! Ivan is going to see! Megan thought, tears of joy escaping her wide-open eyes.
